My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

oh i really think making copies at cheaper rates is a MUCH better idea than buying expensive clothes from designers and then see your money go down the drain.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

yeah, the only reason I would go to a designer is to avoid all this and unprofessionalism but if I aint gonna be able to avoid all that then I'm better off getting dresses copied .... and quality copies with a warranty card in hand.

Jubjub - Did you give her your feedback?

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

lara i haven't, there is just no point. she seems to be doing this to a lot of people, im sure they have all given feedback (ie yelling at her in her store lol) but she hasn't changed her ways. it will be just be hassle and the outcome will be nothing. the only thing that can be done is to educate ppl on forums like this. hajra hayat is only good for pret, if you like what you see in her store buy it off the rack, just don't get couture made from here.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Hey jubjub, whatever the case, it's worth a try, Lara had to go on for a while but eventually she is getting her stuff redone. It's your hard earned money and you cant just put it in hajra hayat's pocket just like that. Not all women can be warned by forums, these so called designers need to stop taking advantage of us and need a lecture on ethics!!!
When it comes to these designer people they dont even spare a single dollar and expect us to sit back and watch them get away!!

It is about 10 PM on Nov. 20th where I am located in America. I had an exchange with Hajra herself on the morning on Nov 18th that the repaired kurtis had been dispatched and that she was going to get me the tracking number from the office later that day. Two days later, and no tracking number.

I remember the first time my clothes were sent out, I had received an email from Rabeela days later asking me for additional shipping. I do not know if Hajra was telling the truth 2 days ago or if this is another run-around.

I still have not received the $95.55 reimbursement check either.

Upon receipt and examination of these kurtis, I will share with you the details. I sure hope this time around the stitching is what is expected of a designer name of which she is promoting of herself.

Jubjub - you should contact them.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

They have a group on facebook join that group if they let you join and then post pictures of your kurtis as well as paste what you have written here; probably then they'll realize.

Teelobain- someone did that earlier on. If you read the beginning of this posting, that is how they found out I shared my experience with everyone. They removed it and kept saying "we left it on our page for a day and no one responded to it."

Rabeela replied directly on this thread, first by pasting a positive email from someone who had received a sari and then by speaking directly to me addressing my issue.

I have finally received a DHL tracking number that the kurtis have been dispatched.

same here yaar..thanx for telling us .

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

one day an angel from inbetween the 7 skys will come along, preferably a designer, who wont be a butt monkey and wont be money greedy and will only work for us beautiful beautiful guppies on fair prices and hassle free .. and that day we shall be happy and bazaar talk shall be filled with rainbows and butterflies!!!

Kapracrazy – good one.

Today I received the parcel with the kurtis from Hajra Hayat. With great anticipation, I opened the package. Inside were the 4 kurtis I had sent back in October.

The stitching around the arms is much much better. One of them, however, does have a small hole in the chiffon which wasn’t there before, but is in a manageable location where I should be able to get it patched locally. I don’t understand how they can miss things like this and still send things out??

The fitting is very good and they opened up the arms and chest area. They added lining to the chiffon see-through sleeves so I feel much more comfortable wearing them.

They are beautiful kurtis.

I am still waiting for the $95 shipping reimbursement Rabeela had said I would be getting on this board.

If I had received the kurtis in this condition back in September, I would have been on this board raving of her work and good price-point and would have had more clothes on order by now.

In one of my exchanges with Hajra, she said that the order had previously been stiched in a hurry. Hence the poor stitching.

Unfortunately, I do not believe they want to retain me as a customer. A couple days ago, I had inquired on an outfit seen on Facebook photos. The embroidered pants are beautiful, however I prefer a different style shirt since the one they have is sleeveless and A-line style shirt. On Facebook, Rabeela had written of a tunic alternative with sleeves, however in a separate email to me, she told me she was under strict orders not to customize outfits for me. They must be sold as is.

I never had any issues with their customization of kurtis from their suits. My problem was with their poor stitching, lack of responsiveness, slow response if any and in turn - poor customer service for not offering immediately to cover shipping since they had sent such horribly stitched clothes. If they had not read of this on this board, would they have repaired the kurtis?

I am very happy I have received the repaired kurtis. Hopefully the Hajra Hayat design house will revamp their customer service policy to respond immediately and instill higher standards of quality control before something is sent out of their hands.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Good to know you finally got them, I'm glad things worked out, just be careful in the future!

Kapracrazy - Thanks. As for being careful, how would we, the consumer, know this could possibly happen when dealing with an established name?

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

That is very correct. It was a shock! that thing someone posted about hajra saying get out was horrible!

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

OH my gosh! Yes, that was surprising to hear.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

OMG HORRIBLE!

As I said before, she's a talented designer. Just need to revamp the customer service and quality control issues to be up to American standards if she wants to have customers over here.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

yet another example of how desis can be penny wise but pound foolish. she's haggling over $100 with you but probably lost so many customers due to this feedback. when will people learn the importance of pleasing the customer? nobody really cares these days what brand you are if your customer service is rotten. There's PLENTY of other brands that can replace u!
