My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

naynaonline.com are wonderful to work with, they reply wihin hours. the designer isn't as creative as others but clothes r good. customer service is fantastic

i have to saw i do find it really weird that paki designers who are big have such crap websites and crap customer service. they claim that they do huge business in the middle east, i can't see any middle-eastern person being bothered with ppl who don't even speak english properly. maybe the arabs pay for the designer to fly to their palaces with their collections............that's probably what actually happens.

anyway i too ordered something for my sister from hajra, lets see how it turns out.

out of menswear designers i had a horrible experience wuth munib nawaz last yr.....i would never go back to him but his designs are so cool (i guess it's this attitude that lets them treat the middle-class like ****)
ismail farid on the other hand is fantastic, i always get compliments when i wear his shirts.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Saman from Nayna is great to work with! She called me within hours after my MIL emailed her my number for clothes she ordered for me, and spent so much time discussing what I was looking for even though I was buying ready-made suits but she was keen to make any changes that I wanted in kaam, material, etc. Even though they are pricey and you can get the same clothes at a much lesser price, I would still go to them just for the great service they provide. It was difficult to believe she was a Pakistani designer and so respectful towards the customer.

I have had very positive experiences with hinab . com and Rani Emaans . com.

Here are the pictures of the kurtis. I had to reduce the pictures 50% in order for them to upload. I hope you can see what I am talking about.

Check out the stitching on this arm:

Here is the back:

Shouldn’t one not see that threading??

See both arms:

Here is the infamous hole in the chiffon material. See my middle finger through the hole:

Otherwise, it is pretty nice design work:

This is the one I absolutely loved and paid $225 for. Note how the bottom of the daman doesn’t even fall nicely like the model wore:

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

stitching doesnt look professional. i never did any sewing but i am sure i can do better than this. ask her for full refund. these dont look designers at all.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Th stitching is horrible this is very unprofessional it luks like that the kurtis r from a very cheap shop i think u should get a refund when u r not satisfied or atleast ask for 50% money back..

stitching is worst in my opinion tailor is below average.
he just ruined the dresses specially on sleeves.
although main issue was with the tailor but what made matters worse was using light crinckle chiffon on shirts, although its expensive than normal chiffon but it is not recommended to used on shirts with zardozi work as it couldnt hold and had she used lining on sleeves would have been easier for tailor to atleast make it reasonable or she should have used heavy crinckle chiffon which is more expensive.

as for holes although most of times these are from manufacturers end but person stitching the dress woud have known that and wouldnt have allowed it to be shipped.

^^ Dang! It seems like my tailor who works from a shop in a street sews SO much more professionally and with FAR more finesse. Is this what the so-called designer rave all about?

You must ask for a full refund for such low quality.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

^i agree... me and my mom can definitely stitch much better than this.. i showed this to my mom and she said this is really very bad quality stitching...

Sorry doesnt looke designer at all, this work you can get in any gali in pakistan and I dont even want to mention the stitching ... very very bad just ruined it.

I am glad that you wrote your experience here, many dollar / euro paying customers will now be careful of ordering from her.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

oh my gosh how much did u pay for the blue one???I could have made something better then that wid more work for around 40-50 $ i just sent my frnd some kurtis to uk and they were around the same range and the cloth was raw silk!

Just once something bad happened with my order one of my frnd ordered a really pretty and expensive dress but she wanted it for low cost no way could tht dress be made for 1/4th of the price still i tried to do it in her budget but ofcourse it didnt turn up the same way it was in the pic as then it would cost her loadssssss of bucks then later the courier ppl mishandeled the parcel and delayed the parcel i was so pissed off....I wish she could get the dress on time :)

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

stylo, you should start doing this business for the ladies here in Gupshup, its sad that ppl abroad who dont know the prices in pakistan get ripped off from these so called 'designers'.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

hehehe Saadia actually I have started that some of the GS fellows know they r waiting to see my work though :) m gathering the pix so tht i can show it to u ppl :)

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

Stylobabe - $225!!!

i m so very sorry to see the pics and even more thinkin how much money you paid in dollars for these silly dresses. please dun mind, but i didnt like even any one of your dresses. the stitching is patethic.. normal tailors are not that unprofessional yar.... the arm stiching part looks so obvious... anyone can make out it was sleevless. i really feel bad for you. u should definitely write to her and give her a piece of ur mind since u paid money for the dresses and asa customer its ur rite if ure payin for something it should be worth it. next time never go for her dresses.. infact dun ever order online... its so complicated... and everone has mixed reviews abt them. the best thing you can do is ask smeone in pak to get the dresses for u and have them deliver it to your address.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

I appreciate your comments. I have had successful experiences in the past with ordering from others, so I never thought it would be like this bad with Hajra Hayat.

I have no legal recourse and I bet these people will never refund my money. I emailed the same pictures I posted here to Hajra and her manager Rabeela. I am awaiting their response. These people overall do not care if you ever order from them again. I am telling you all here and any of my friends and associates, but there are people all over the world who will continue to order because they don't know.

I have a friend who ordered a sari last month and she was happy with her results. The finishing wasn't as bad as mine, but it was not perfect.

I don't have anyone in Pakistan who can send me stuff. My relatives have different taste and don't shop like I shop. You all know how it is.

hmmm its sad... dont u go to pak every year??? i go to pak every yr so i buy whatever i like or else i leave it on my v fashionable cousin who is 1000 times better than me in this stuff... u wud HAVE to trust someone lara. or else switch over to the old designers.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

I don't go to Pakistan anymore. Maybe I will in the next few years.

I usually buy my clothes from the appna bazaars, but I was looking for kurtis. I am using kurtis more than shalwar kameezes these days. The best thing is just to keep ordering from those I meet in person and have seen their work firsthand.

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat

I'm glad u wrote this post! I've been looking around on Hajra Hayat's design lately and i wanted to order one outfit that i liked.

I had already started talking to Rabeela and Hajra Hayat abt how i want my outfit, and all they were discussing was the money. I live in scandinavia, and i asked if they would deliever to my country and so on. And then i went to the western union to make the payment but my bank didnt allow me to pay in dollars to Pakistan.

So I went home again and sent a mail to Hajra and said that my bank wouldnt allow me and then she said that they had an account in the US too, so I could make the payment there. And when i asked for the bank details it went like 11 days before i got any reply from Hajra, and then i recived the bank details today and was trying to make the payment on western union(online) before i messed it up some how..lolz...so there's not been any transactions.

I'm glad that i didnt made the payment, I guess I just don't want the outfit that much any longer after reading ur experience and seeing the pictures.

Thanks for saving me from a horrible situation!:)

Re: My experience with ordering from Hajra Hayat
