She had time to post on this, but so far no one has responded to my email reply telling them again that I do not feel responsible to pay for shipping messed up kurtis back to them.

This customer service is really bad. I realize that mistakes may happen, but it's the business owner's obligation to fix his or her mistakes, to make it right and to ensure customer satisfaction. This is how a reputation is built.
