well well well β¦ dont we like getting all dolled up ![]()
today i had an appointment with a laura mercier make-up artist. she was visiting rotterdam for free sessions (which otherwise normally would cost 75euros/hour), so i thought itβs a perfect opportunity, definitely not to be missed!
so. it was basically a one hour long session. we talked, played with makeup, and felt pretty ![]()
what was good about this session was that the artist was jamaican, so she understood how to work with colored skin. she is also launching her own web-page next week, and will be doing a page about indian skin!!
because LM cosmetics are really big about flawless, natural makeup, the MUA herself was also quite a perfectionist on this statement. she started with cleaning my skin with a toner, and applying the primer. she then blended an oil-free liquid foundation with the tinted-moisturizer to attain the perfect match for my skin. this was good becuz i have combination skin. the oil-free foundation worked well with oily areas, while the tinted moisturizer gave enough hydration to drier areas. a god balance. it felt extremely light, almost as if nothing is there β¦ i was comfortable with touching my skin .. with other makeup i am so scared to touch my face, and also becuz i am constantly feeling the make-up, i am unconsciously drawn to touch it becuz someplace or the other starts to itch.
itβs been 4-5 hours that i am wearing the makeup, and my face still isnt showing any signs of oiliness, and the makeup is well intact.
anyways.
she didnt put the foundation on my neck, just till the end of my jawline. she said that this is one sign of a perfect match, that although your makeup stops at the jawline, you still cant tell the difference between your neck and face.
after the foundation, she put the under-eye concealer β¦ not so much that it looks overly caked, or unnatural that you just HAVE to cover all darkness. for an everyday look. some brightener around the outside corner of the eyes and on the inside.
bronzer on the apples of the cheeks, all the way upto above the outer edge of the eyebrow, creating a βCβ β¦
and then she did the eyes and the lips in natural tones, just to add some nice depth. the lipstick was an amazing natural shimmer. it was still there after i had dinner. and it doesnt feel sticky at all! she didnt use a dark black anywhere, just a dark brown or black mixed lightly with another shade.
finally. the end look was perfectly natural!i loved it. i am not scared to touch my face ![]()
she gave me a personal color chart, a list of all products that she used, and a booklet for more info. ![]()
