Hi Guys
I’m an Indian from Hyderabad
I want to share with you my experience of staying in Muslim country as a Hindu
My first and hopefully the last visit to a Muslim country was Bangladesh
i stayed there for 8 month, Working in a UK based MNC
My Accommodation was at my Bangladeshi Country Manager’s Residence,
My office has rented a 3BHK portion of his house,
It is bit costly but for security reasons they have decided it
We are six people from India 5 (1 Muslim) are from the same state and 1 from kerala
The office atmosphere was very nice and i never felt that i was in a different country
i felt like I’m staying in west Bengal
The outside public easily recognizes us that we are not from Bangladesh,
The Educated people give good respect to Indians and rest of them don’t care whoever we are
They used to talk us in broken urdu/Hindhi (as they picked the language from Indian TV Channels and Movies)
The city is overpopulated like in Kolkata and Mumbai
About Infrastructure there are some good and bad things as well
I Amazed seeing the Internet Prices (in year 2000) 240 Taka /hour its very high compared to Hyderabad (10 Rs)
My Manager always warned us not to go out alone and says it is not like in India
He says that if they find us not a Bangladeshi they will cheat us and if they find us as an Indian Hindu they may kill us
And many times i went alone to old Dhaka, but i might be bit lucky nothing happen to me and the people are really not as bad as he said
We used to have many friendly discussions abt babri masjid,
But I always used to divert the topic as I’m not interested in discussing such volatile topics
I attended two Muslims marriages as well, the people in the function are friendly and always discuss with us abt Indian movies & food
i ride cycle rickshaw first time in my life as you don’t find cycle rickshaws in southern cities ( pune mumbai hyderabad and bangalore)
Overall i had a memorable experience in bangladesh and the things are not that worst in dhaka may be it is a different thing in other cities
and also the reason may be the PM is Hasina that time
:k: Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing countries in the world.. but there’s a catch… in terms of population. Plus their love for machhli is really very annoying.. thats why it angered our punjabi and pathan generals in 1971.. PakPatriot1 is rt.. visit pakistan please- we are a very peaceful country.. no one doesnt even get angry.. ppl always smile..westerners, minorites and everybody else is safest in Pakiland.
Nice to know that you are from my own `Gods own country’.I have been to Bengladesh once,as part of our company visits and Inever felt that I was in a foreign country .I was there for just 8 days in Dhaka ,but nobody warned me for any troubles and I met numerous hindus ,both working in my organization and outsiders.Though some of them have complaints about the ruling regime, rich Hindus never seemed to complain about anything.I also visited Dakeshwari temple and a few small temples outskirts of Dhaka. On my return back to Kolkatta,I also saw Kanthanagar bridge,Dinajopur which was blown up by Pak army to stop the Indian advance, during Indo-pak war of 1971.The only complaint I have about Dhaka is ,its streets are filled with Rickshaws, just like Kolakatta
I have been to Pakistan four times and no need to tell it is one of my most favourite destinations ,though there are some complaints abt ill-treatment of temples. But I am happy to note that ,atleast a section of the Hindu community is living there happily.
I will visit Pakistan for the fifth time this year

How do you get so freely? Are you salesman or statesman?
God's Own Country is Kerala and not Hyderabad ( Hyderabad is called pearl city, Hi Tech City ( known for its high technology in India as even remote villages have a internet connection) )
I agree with you
There is a severe Drought and many farmers commited suicide and the previous government didn't care about it and neglected agriculture(India is a agriculture based country and bypassed the public with the overhype publicity of technology, but the present govt is acting smart and concentrating on both fields, our state public is very smart if the govt didn't work proper they throw them out of power in the next elections, so the leaders are scared now atleast they are spending half of the funds in development whereas half goes into their pockets
I am sorry to learn about the corruption in India.. :( Atleast we don't have that much corruption ruining our country. The worst guy was mr. 10% or asif Ali zardari h/o Benazir Bhutto.
last means don't take it in a wrong way, i mean to say that i don't have any friends left there, all my bangladeshi friends settle in USA and they hardly visit BD, and i also settled in USA
