can u receive e-mails otherwise? i.e. not thru gupshup? try sending urself an e-mail from the same account...

If you are getting emal notifications (assuming you have selected to receive email on PM, subscribed to threads etc) properly, then you have a valid and working email address in your profile. If you are not getting email notifications, then you have a problem. Check your profile to ensure that your email address is correct.
