My Eid Brunch menu for extended family

So this year InshAllah there won’t be any big feasts at our house for the extended family so I’ve decided that Brunch maybe the way forward. I figured I can prepare a lot of the stuff in advance.

The brunch is a mixture of Pakistani-Western so if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

**Savory:
Potato Rosti
Crustless quiche
Tandoori chicken
Dum Keema
Cholay Puris?
Naans or Parathas?
Plain shaped eggs
Toast
**
Sweets:
**Fruit salad and skewers
Orange rolls
Waffles with fruit compote
Granola

Possible additions:
store bought pastries
store bought sausages (to go with the eggs?)

Drinks:
tea, (no one drinks coffee), a nice refreshing cocktail, juice boxes (mainly for the kids), possibly a milk based drink for the kids…not sure though.

**
I figured I can marinate tandooris beforehand and make the keema the night before. The crustless quiche can be prepared in advance and baked on the day. Not sure about the rosti as I don’t want to discolour.

Sweet stuff wise I have a waffle iron (I love gadgets!) so thought it would be easy to put together with a bit of prep. As it shall InshAllah be summer I thought fruit would be a welcomed sweet along with granola served with yogurt. I was thinking Kheer…but didn’t want too many sweets.

I’ll be hanging tissue pom poms above the serving table and decorating the table in pink and yellow-nice and bright.

I’m thinking of disposable bright coloured plates etc to minimise on clear up.

We’ll be giving the kids balloons ‘stuffed’ with sweets to take home. Not sure of presents as I don’t think the people coming want to exchange gifts.

Anything I’ve missed? Never really done Eid Brunch before so don’t really know what to expect or what to serve. Can’t remember ever doing to one either.

Re: My Eid Brunch menu for extended family

If possible do one desi sweet to balance out the desi savouries. You could do either halwa or kheer or sawaiyaan.

Re: My Eid Brunch menu for extended family

keep mango milk shake so you have a milk based beverage for both adults and kids.
since its EID brunch will you not be having sheerkhurma in the menu?
i suggest you do away with cholay puris. as puris need to be served warm and crisp so you cant make them night before and doing that on dawat day with guests around would be a hassle.
if you can make then kebabs would be an appropriate addition to Eid menu.
will you do any rice dish too?

Re: My Eid Brunch menu for extended family

We’re not really a sheerkhurma kinda family.

As for rice-it’s always on the menu for lunch/dinner so it’s not on the brunch menu.

Don’t forget the biscuits.
