Okay this is probably the most silliest thing you will ever be asked here but I need some help before I go to my doc.
I once was cleaning my ear about a month ago, and I think I pushed the cotton bud too far in and I couldn’t hear. I tried to pop it seeing as it felt like a normal ear block. But it didn’t work..after 3 days it opened up.
After that I had a shower and it got blocked AGAIN. And since then it’s just been opening and then getting blocked again. I can’t even hegar properly with it and I can see the difference quite clearly when I listen to music with both headphones in.
Everything sounds so distant. I wouldn’t dare push anything in that ear again =|
This opening/blocking sensation is common when you have swimmer's ear, which is basically a condition where water enters your ear. This can happen in the shower or while swimming. As your body moves...so does the water in your ear....and that's why you experience a opening and blocking feeling. So, this is what you do. If the sensation is in your right ear...lie down on your right side, with your hand under your right ear. And slowly slowly slowly....the water should come out of your ear. If the sensation is in your left ear, you'll do the same thing. You're basically draining the ear of fluid. And you might have to lie down for quite some time before the fluid drains out. You'll feel the water come out.
^ Now if this is not working........PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTOR! I've been to an ear doctor before. Their instruments are almost like the pipes a dentist uses. They don't hurt. If there is any fluid in your ear....he is will insert a suction pipe in your ear to suck out any fluid/wax.
^Be very careful when cleaning your ears with a q-tip.
Don't worry, you're going to be fine. Just go to the doctor. Your hearing is so important, you shouldn't waste any time in getting the problem checked out. Have you been to the dentist? You know that clear pipe that the dentist puts in your mouth that sucks up plaque, saliva, toothpaste, etc? The suction device is similar to that. It won't hurt. And the doctor will use an irrigation pipe containing water to clean out your ear. And you'll find that you'll have super-sonic hearing, lol. I've been to the ear doctor before, don't be scared. InshaAllah everything will be okay.
^ You rock! I went to my GP and he gave me some eardrops and said to fill my ear with it at night, put in somecotton and in the morning just cleanse my ear. Apparently I got some muck sitting on top of my eardrum and even the tiniest amount can make your hearing a bit fuzzy!
