Openers - Saeed and Afridi
I know it may seem strange that i put Afridi but Pakistan at 1 day haven’t had many good openers like we did for tests. Anwar is automatic as he has been one of our best batsmen ever at 1 day and best opener by far.
Afridi on his day is lovely to watch and offers another bowling option.
Middle Order- Miandad, Inzamam, Abbas
Wouldn’t these partnerships be beautiful to watch.
Miandad probably our best ever batsmen.
Inzamam as well on his day can make it look so simple and Abbas our most fluent batsmen.
All Rounders - Imran and Razzaq
With Imran bowling he would always come up with the goods and if the top order somehow failed or needed qucik runs you knew Imran could do it. Our best over all rounder and maybe even cricketer. Razzaq when he is playing well can bat so beautifully and can stop the runs when he is bowling well. At his best exceptional with bat and ball.
Wicketkeeper- Wasim Bari
No doubt the best wicketkeeper we have had. We have always had dodgy keepers but he was the most solid of the lot.
Spinner- Saqlain
At times is the best one day bowler never less spinner. Can come up with some amazing spells. I wish who would show some of it now.
Opening Bowlers- Wasim and Waqar
No doubt the most feared opening bowling partnership ever in their prime. Waqar pace and those yorkers and Wasim’s swing had most batsmen in the locker room within their opening spells. If in their prime the other bowlers may have little to do after their spells.
This team could never be beaten.
