My dillema in Ramadan ...

is drinking enough water :bummer:

At iftar, I cant have more then half a glass of it … due to longer fasting hours , its so hard to keep on with enough water intake…

Sehri time , cant have more then a glass … its just not enough , is it ..

Do you guys take specific care of the water intake during ramadan? how do you do it?

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

Your water needs depend on your activity level and your lifestyle. That myth that you have to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day is over rated and has been proven wrong.
I drink one glass at aftaar and one at sahar and a cup of tea. I am indoors all day in an air conditioned office and at home the AC is on 24x7 so my water needs are not drastic. When I do some light exercise in the evening before aftaar then I end up drinking two glasses of water.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan …

Mirch that sounds good :lifey: 4-5 glasses is good enough , is it?

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

Probably the actaul thing is that you need to take that much amount of fluids in a day that you unrinate four times a day at least.

I think one should drink two glasses of water after taking a date and then finish aftar + dinner at the same time. And then drink two more glasses before sleeping. And before eating Sehri two glasses will fulfill you need of the day.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan …

It is good enough for me in Ramazan. During other months I drink more. Over the weekends I drink even more as I am mostly outdoors.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

I guess as long as you're not feeling dehydrated, you're good to go :D

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

I put a berocca or gatorade powder in my water, it's easier to drink at Sehri time than plain water, as where i live is very hot and dehydrating. Why don't you try that?

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

Don't forget that many of the foods you eat also contain water in them.....so you don't necessarily need to drink a glass of water to meet your water intake needs.

Fruit, for example, naturally contains water (think of the fruit chaat you eat). Soup contains water. Salad contains water, etc.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

If you are a late sleeper drink water as much as you can, a glass an hour is enough, until you sleep. Also you can replace simple water in sehri with a glass of fresh squeezed lemon juice with a pinch of salt added for the extra nourishment and a better taste.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

I eat two khajoors in the sehri and two khajoors in the Iftar...and neither i feel hungry nor thirsty. try it. Khajoors are very nutritious.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

well the once you open your fast, keep a water a water bottle with you and keep drinking until you go to bed.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

No worries CB, i am in the same boat:p

Drinking green tea after iftar quenches thirst. You feel light afterwards so you are able to take in more water till you go to bed.

Re: My dillema in Ramadan ...

I have a glass of water straight after I open my roza with a kajoor. Then I have atleast 2 glasses with dinner.

At sehri I can only manage 1 and a half glasses maximum.
