Sometimes i dont even manage to open my browser before it disconnects and when i do manage to open the browser it disconnects and doesn’t let me re-connect for a good 5 to ten minutes. When i right-click on the dial up connection it has the connect faded out and just takes me to the properties box?
Any idea why this is happening? and if it is a virus causing this…is there a fix?
Please help!

Check ur phone line....and if ph line is ok then change ur modem !

How do i change my laptop modem?
The other strange thing is that even if i unplug my phone cable it still has the modem in engage mode…I dont think it is the modem though because after two attempts i seem to use the internet fine?

Maybe ur modem needs to "heat up" before functioning properly :)

Somebody suggested i use a different browser e.g. firefox which should avoid the problem, i'm gonna give it a try.

yar dialup hia to check ker if there any other extension on the sam line .. ager wahan hand set sahi nahin para howa ho ga to yeha panga bhut hota hai ..

Guys...it had nothing to do with the line. It was a virus...'sssasasb32.exe' i've permenantly blocked it using my personal firewall. the built-in Windows XP firewall is really crap!
