Re: My daughter

have you consulted any dr for this ?

Re: My daughter

yes doctor said she is fine for her age but she is very skinny

i mean my elder one eats everything, but she, she has a hell of a short temper and she clearly says, i don't like eating :S

Re: My daughter

there is a zubaida tariq's totka to enhance appetite of kids. I try to find it out for you !

didn't dr suggest a solution to this problem ?

have you asked her what she likes to eat ? if she has preferences then try to make for her things that she likes (but I am sure you must have had tried pretty much everything by now !)

Re: My daughter

yup :(

she likes only chocolates, banana watermelon

nothing solid which she has to chew

Re: My daughter

Hi Korn,
My son had similar issues although much more severe. Things that have helped...

Carnation Instant breakfast (chocolate) mixed with whole milk. You could make it even higher calorie by putting it in a blender and adding a banana.

There are watermelon flavored kids yogurts and yogurt drinks now, they're really healthy and have good calories.

She also needs to build her chewing muscles. Maybe try cereal straws, you can get chocolate ones, they're not too hard to chew and its kind of fun for little ones, they can use it as a straw to drink their choc milk and also take bites from it.

If you want to get really aggressive about weight gain, you could try Benecalorie. Its a very high-calorie fluid that can be mixed into shakes or soft foods and each serving is 330 calories.

Hope this helps!

Maybe try some oatmeal, you could mix some chocolate syrup into plain oatmeal, she may like that. Add a teaspoon of extra-virgin olive oil to really pack in the calories.

Re: My daughter

thank you so much for the tips

definitely will implement them :)

Re: My daughter

i think she may have difficulty swallowing... kids that havevnt developed something as natural as swallowing often refrain from solid foods and live ona mush diet... have ure dr look into this aspect.... kids that have a swallowing problem try to protect the food from getting into their air way and thats why take forever to chew and swallow.. cuz they want to take one itsy bitsy pce at a time...

read up on it...

Re: My daughter

Korn, you can get Nutren Junior or Pediasure to go along with any solids she actually does take. There's actually another formula (the name escapes my mind), which is even higher in calories. Nutren & Ped are 1 cal/mL, and the other one is 1.5cal/mL. Talk to your doctor about it.

Re: My daughter

try Flintstone vitamins for finicky eaters..i think there is one for kids that have no appetite as well.
