Does anyone here have a child/relative with the same problem?
My daughter is on Epival and Rivotril but still has seizures every month. In december she had 5 seizures and was admitted in the hospital also, 4 of them were generalized convulsions also grand mal.
Plz pray 4 my little baby she is only 2 years and 9 months old (she started having focal fits at 2 1/2 months and many many fits after that). Her development is far behind and she can only say a few words but when she says something my heart melts with love
plz include Iman in ure prayers, I cannot live without her and I can only be happy when is she ok…

Prayers for your little girl boredom. May she be kept safe with an angel by her side.
My son is in 2nd grade, in a class for children with special needs. One of his classmates is very much like your daughter, he suffered frequent grand mal seizures from a very young age and is developmentally behind. I dont know what meds he was taking but his mom was telling me that they frequently needed to adjust dosages and even switch to different meds from time to tome. As he got older, the seizures became less frequent and they recently celebrated one year of being seizure-free. Perhaps this Inshallah will be the case with your daughter.
Does your daughter receive services like speech, OT and PT? This may not help with the seizures but will help her development much. If you live in US or Europe, these services are provided at no cost.
You have a tough situation...will keep you and your family in prayers. I know how it is to have a little one with troubles, how they just melt your heart with love for the least little things :)
Re: My daughter suffers from Grand Mal seizures and Febrile Fits
Hi, i dont know how to say but i was on Epival recommended to my mom when i was 4 yrs old. Then i had to take it for about 10 years because i got regular blackouts for 2-3 secs daily.. Though i never had actual fits or mucle cramping ever but the doc kept me on Epival. Now the doc think that this happened due to complications during childbirth.. Now im not on medications at all and fit and healthy..So please dont lose hope ever. Have faith in Allah. I will pray for her.. I know what you would be going through

She will be fine soon, Don't worry abt her development delays.....nobody is competing in a race.....My nephew spoke only few words till he was four and inshaalla now he is 8 and one of the brightest students in his class. For the fits, try moderating her diet with certain feeds and then sort out the foods which messes her up. If you are in US/Europe...trying feeding her organic baby food...that might help.

OT is "Occupational Therapy". For children, therapy consists of teaching them age-appropriate ways to play and interact with other kids. And how to perform tasks of living like helping them learn to drink from a straw, how to hold a crayon, how to write/draw at an age appropriate level, how to take turns while playing a game etc.
PT is physical therapy. It helps with gross-motor (things like running, catching and throwing a ball, hopping on one foot) and fine motor (holding a pencil, picking up a coin, staying in the lines of a coloring book picture as appropriate to age).
I dont know what availability there is in Pak but I will look on the internet for you and PM you if I find any good programs or schools. Meantime, there are some really great websites which talk about developmental delays and the types of activities that can help overcome them. I'll mail you those also.
Hang tough and keep on doing what you've been doing. I think you were blessed with a special child because you are the special person that she needs. :)
