The fact that Allah mentions the word "parents" when he orders us to be kind to them clearly tells that both the mother and the father are to be treated nicely.

I think you are saying “we will need to adopt the new zamana and its ways to understand our kids and we shouldn’t do that”. Well ofcourse agar zamana kuch ghalat sikha raha hai kids ko, so we shouldn’t agree with them and tell them that’s wrong. But the problem is when our parents try to make us understand something, they sometimes don’t say it in a polite way and with logic.

Yes you are right, kids ki achi tarbiyat ko islam main jaisa bataya giya hai wasi karni chahiye.

LoL. Please come live at my house. My father lectures me on the same things for an hour and a half on the same things daily. There was a point i wished he'd just beat me so I wouldn't have to hear it anymore. My grades were never good enough and for all I seemed to do there was never praise but just criticism. I think it's some thing with desi dads, and I feel like they think they're making you a stronger person. However, being so harsh with your children can leave them depressed and with self-esteem issues. I think there needs to be a balance.

well bachy, then study hard and get good grades.. im sure your father doesn't get money from the boota either and im also sure you didnt tell us the whole story either.. you must do sumthing else to rile him up? Perhaps waking up late, being lazy etc etc

Put yourself in your dad's shoes for a second. Feel like he does. He goes to work early in the morning just so he can feed you, give you good life and he does that because he loves you. Every dad out there wants nothing but the best life for their children. They might nag you, frustrate you over things that we might not consider a big deal, but they've been through it all. They have been there, working hard even before we were born, they know how hard life is. They certainly don't want you to go through the pain, which is why they say certain things. In their minds, they are helping, which they but most people don't realise until after a long time, when they go through it all:)

hmm i dont know what you meant. but all i know is people are harder to please so sometimes we should focus on what we are doing and not on if it would please people.

DO WHAT EVER YOUR FATHER TELLS YOU TO just because he cares, and all of you know he cares.

Alhamdulilah my dad was very pleased with me when he passed away and there is no one now to take his place to tell me off.
