My dad is 60 and is pretty conservative but at the same time wants to be current and updated with the latest movies or movies that people are talking (Jay Leno). Since all of the kids are married, he insists of taking my mom along.
So last year, against my wishes he went and rented brokeback mountain! (because that’s all the media was talking about)
How do I get my dad to listen and not watch things that are not suitable for his age and his taste.
LOL , not a problem
Leave the poor guy alone. He raised you a good girl didn't he ? He is not going to turn into hoodlum by watching any movie at this stage of his life.
Next time tell him "abu I get you a better movie"
He will say no, but when he watches the movie he selected, and finds some thing unpleasant in it.
Next time when you say "abu I get you a better movie" there are 20% chance he would pay attention.
But you just keep doing it. Chance are you mom would understand before. May be she would convince your dad.
aww thats so cute (not the brokeback mountain)!
i also try to be my daddy's mommy when it comes to recommending movies :) always telling him,"oh thats not for u to watch" lol. but i guess its true that hez my dad and not vise versa.
so, let ur dad watch whatever he chooses , n i'll try the same for mine!
He's your Dad and has lived longer and seen more probably than you have ;-) So don't take him to be naive. If he wants to watch Brokeback and listen to gangsta rap then let him get a flavor of those things. It's not going to hurt him at this stage.
I simply tell him daddy the film is not appropriate for you, girls are wearing way too skimpy clothes and other stuff which you wont really like but if you still insist I can get that for you, Poor daddy have No choice other than saying NO
