Re: My Cousin
Yet the offices of Oracle in Montreal are full of desi techies. Major financial institutions and fortune 500 companies have desis in high positions, and not all desis are abcds there.
The guys who is a director in I/T company is tech savvy actually did a dual MBA in marketing and MIS but that was used as an example. There are many I/T diploma holders in call center jobs as well..Look on GS and see how desis who were not born in US or Canada but moved here are doing. Ask around.. talk to Azkar, Faisal , Umar, Kaleem, Madhanee and Pinstriper (well they are banned I think), ask Ehsan..Pakistani Abroad, 5Abi, AhmadJee and see for yourself how well people can do in their careers.
I can go to pearson airport and observe, how about you call U of T and McGill and ask what their placement rate is for foriegn MBA grads ![]()
Yeah there are pkenty of educated unemployed desis in Canada, I can bet the number is less than those in pakistan..
In the end you are correct that its not just the MBA, successful people bring a lot more to the table. But I have never met an unemployed mcgill MBA or an unemployed harvard MBA. I have not seen an unemplpyed LUMS or IBA MBA in pakistan but the guy who got his MBA from the university that was opened in teh top floor of the bungalow across jummah bazaar wiull ahve a tough time..especially if his people skills and contacts are weak. If you did not go to one of the top unis, then you have to try harder, network more and struggle a bit more, but that is something everyone does..some just ahve to do it more.
