All of a sudden, it looks like it’s in ‘Safe Mode’ eventhough it isn’t. No error messages came up, nothing. It just froze and the colours went weird. I shut down and restarted many times but it’s showing up the same … very grainy and extra large fonts. I’m posting an image of it … take a look at the task bar.
I know it isn’t the monitor cause it’s working fine on the other computer in the house. I’m guessing it’s something inside the computer.
I’m using Windows XP.

I’ve run anti-virus checks and everything seems to be clear.
I have seen this before. (it seems to be a driver issue)
You probably have a Gefore Graphics card, and a certain version of drivers installed with it. So I suggest update the drivers from Nvidia website. Should be ok after that.
Mehnaz, you can download the drivers at this page. just select one of the given mirror links.. link gone]
[EDIT]
Ohh wait.. I just opened the thumbnail above again, and have a close look. You dont have a Geforce, but an ATI VGA card.. so you’ll need to update the drivers from ATI..
Right click on the 'ATI' icon in your system tray (bottom right corner) and go through the options to change the colour depth to 16bit or 32bit and change the resolution to 8000x640 **or **1024x768 ...
It seems that your video display drivers (or VGA drivers) have given up on you for some reason ... its cross with you I'd say :p ....
If the suggestions given by other members don't work then let me know .. I've got a dirty trick up my sleve ... it might fix your problem (80% chances it will inshaAllah)
