I don’t get it. Please can someone explain to me the need to have a really loud car?
And while you are at it, can you also shed some light on why there is a compelling desire to race up and down a deserted but main thoroughfare between midnight and 3 am when people in that neighbourhood are sleeping?
I love loud exhausts them. Not all loud exhausts are created equal though. There are some that are pure bliss and others that make you wanna rip the car apart. Though I wouldn’t gut the exhaust on my daily commuter. One they’re a cop magnet, two they give you head aches.
The reason they’re doing that 3am is because that’s when the roads are empty. You wouldn’t want them hitting 150mph at 5am in the morning when you’re going to work.
I just spent 30 minutes browsing car exhaust notes on youtube . So yeah, gotta get me stick shift car and slap a low restriction exhaust on it :halo:
Nope. It’s not okay at all. For one it’s dangerous, they’re probably driving way over the speed limit while making those sounds. And the noise is not okay either.
I wouldn’t do that, at least not here in the US; not even on the freeways. Because I don’t want my driving record to get tainted and drunk drivers. I might do it in Karachi, what’s the point of lawlessness when you can’t even have some fun. I wouldn’t do it in residential neighborhoods though.
My car does make more noise than yours… just kidding though…
Well, a loud exhaust does mean that the car is breathing better and the better a car breaths the more actual power it produces, not in the case of Honda Civic owners and their fart cans (exhausts) though, but I’m sure that you don’t much care for it.
Aren’t there regulations in the US that prevent a car’s exhaust noise to be over a certain decibel reading?, I mean we do here, especially with motorcycles.

Free flowing exhaust alone don’t add a lot of power ( 5-10 hp at most ). But when you make other mods to a car engine that enable it to burn more fuel or rev harder, a free flowing exhaust might be necessary to keep the engine temperatures in check. But that’s true only for car’s racing on the track. An everyday commuter car hardly ever gets pushed to it’s limits. So the low restriction make no sense.
Honda Civics aren’t that bad sir, especially not for their cost and reliability.
