i m just so freakin tired and depressed. my baby is 10wks and all she dus is cry or sleep. if shes not sleepin shes crying. i m just so ****king tired!!! she sleeps 2-3 times max in day time for max 15-30 mins or sometimes even less than that. then she wakes up crying. ive tried everything feedin her, changin diaper but few mins of peace and then she cries again. i thot it wud b gas but i feel its somethin more than that. there r times she wud b quiet when i pick her up but sometimes she dusnt even keep quiet with that. cud a baby cry unnecessarily?? i m sure mine dus that all the time. ppl say i shud play with her in afternoon and make her routine and all but tell me if a baby either sleeps or cries how the hell is a mom supposed to make a routine. she is soo talkative.. she likes ppl talkin to her, singin to her n all that. for her this is play.. these days she is squealin and makin laugh sounds but not more than 5 mins max. honestly i m fed up. i dun understand why she cries so mch.
ive strted BF her from side position cus i knw she will sleep in that position. everyday she sleeps after 4am never ever before that. its amzin such a small baby sleeps exctly after 4 or later. i dunno wht to do. why is she cryin all the time. wot dus she want? i dun understand her cryin cues cus shes always crying. pls help i m goin insane.. as the days r goin by i m losing hope. thankfully she sleeps for 3-4 hrs aftr 4am then wakes up cvryin, i feed her in side position then she sleeps for another 3-4 hrs. wakes up either at 12pm or 1pm. then my whole day is spent in listening to her crying, then feeeding, then crying, then changin nappy, then cryin, then playing for few mins. ppl tell me to leave her on her own after BF, i did that, after 2 mins or les she cries. ive tried puttin her in a maching which rocks her(its automatic with music and all) but she sits in it for 5 mins or less than that. i dunno why she dusnt like to b on her own. pls tell me wots the problem with her.
P.S: i thot shes hungry thaz y she is cryin so ive even tried formula milk 2 ounce before bedtime but she either dusnt sleep or if she dus, wakes up after few mins crying. she cannot sleep on her own. i have to rock her to sleep and when i put her down she opens her eyes or wakes up after a few mins. i dunno how to break her habit and how to make her sleep on her own. one reason cud b i dun swaddle her in afternoon or eve but at nite i do.. so r we supposed to swaddle a baby 24/7?
my daughter was crying and crying. it was summer i called nurses up in the hospital they said she might be thirsty......after drinking alot she was crying. i used to spend most of my time sitting in gp clinic and all they used to say was she is fine, nothing wrong.
eventually they sent us to specialist. specialist said either she has urine intact infection or allergic to cow milk (breast feeding kids through mum others through formula).
she was allergic to cow milk. i had to stop her bb feeding and she was on neocate....she was fine after taking this milk.
so better check if ur daughter has the same problem!!
It's probably colic or gas.What does your doctor say?

Have you tried gripe water? It REALLY helped with my kids.
And no, I dont think babies cry unnecessarily. She's probably hurting :/
Please try gripe water, and also , if you're giving her formula, give it to her in 'saunf' boiled water. That would settle her stomach too.

I agree with the above posters that gas , constipation , heat/cold could be the reasons too.
try to give her saunf water or gripe water it does help. But please take her to some other dr now. Poor thing can not even tell or express what is bothering her :(

yar i have taken her to atleast 5 different docs already!!!! all say shell b fine by 3rd month and def she is colic but i m frustrated that she cries even in day time. ive tried givin gripe water.. it has helped in passing gas thaz all. but it dusnt look like gas to me.. cus how can a baby cry even in day time.. is she hungry? they say if u BF u shud do so after every 20 mins cus they urinate and feel hungry again. after BF if i do leave her alone she is on her own for max 5 mins thaz it!! is she hungry again???
Does she need to be burped? Is she suffering from reflux?
Check with your doc about gripe water.
Is she constipated?
She's only getting 9hrs of sleep a day?

well 3hrs+3hrs(from 4am-1pm) she wakes up at 7.30 or 8am change nappy, eats and sleeps again. plus 1-2 hrs in afternoon maybe thaz it!!!!!!! she dusnt have reflux and chcked her urine too.. has no infection. doc says shes just colic and they freakin take it so lightly it just pisses me off!
and how did u knoiw it was time to sleep in afternoon. mine is v difficult and active she tries to kick herself out of it but at nite i m firm and tie her up!shes such a light sleeper too.. and i m too i can wake up at slightest sound but atleast i love sleepin :(

i wish the diagnosis was easy :( her urine test came fine too.. dunno wots the prb. can i know if she is allergic or lactose intolerant thru urine? my doc said shes fine
i do give her drops of saunf 1.5ml before feed.. sometimes just 3-4 times a day i forget givin it to her before BF as u can imagine she is cryin hysterically. it seems it has helped a bit with her gas but she still cries after BF.. she wants company all the time. take this as an example. i just BF her 5 mins ago. i left her and she was kickin her legs and just playin around and after 5 mins she is crying... now wot is up with that? i picked her up and now m typin while she is in my lap. and all this while she is squealin and cooing!!!
If that’s really all, she is not getting enough sleep, which could be contributing to other issues. Don’t expect long stretches of sleep; they are unusual at this age. But put her to sleep more frequently. According to experts she needs twice as much sleep as she’s getting.
Hopefully she'll grow out of it soon. I know it's really hard. If you find yourself getting really frustrated or angry, hand her off for a bit or put her down.
Remember, something is hurting her. Your presence is the only comfort she gets -- your smell, touch, voice, etc. For now, if it helps her stay calm and sleep, just hold her as much as you can.

From what you said,she needs more sleep and babies do cry when sleepy.
Some babies prefer the swing over the bouncer or the other way around.My daughter used to calm down in her swing due to its swinging motion but never liked the vibrations of the bouncer.
Where do you live?Have you tried using the Mylicon drops (Infacol in UK) for tummy gas…??..
Its safe and works most of the time…maybe you can try those…
If you formula feed her ,then the water you use to make her formula,use water you have boiled with a green cardamom and some saunf and ajwain(just a tiny tiny pinch)…I was a bit apprehensive at first using it,but I think it really worked for my baby when she was younger and had those crying spells…
You are BF too…I am pretty sure it wont be the case,but do you think it can be something in your diet that is making her colicky..??..
Although I never had the problem but some mothers say that when being formula fed ,the baby gets too much tummy gas n one brand of formula as compared to the other…maybe you wanna try that after consultation with the pediatrician…
lastly,believe me it gets better…
around the 3 month mark something magical happens and babies get into a routine and these crying spells get better and all…Inshallah it’ll happen…

doctor gave me samples of milk, and told me to try for a week and dont give her anything else or even breast fed.
after feeding her few days she was improved and didnt cry as she did before.
so it worked.
