Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

My sons name has a HUGE impact on his personality and that’s why we’re finding it tough deciding on a girls name. I like the name zairah but it means visitor or ziarat kernay wali. While the name sounds nice the meaning isn’t too deep. I love emaan but hubby doesn’t like generic names like emaan dua noor. Then I like zuha, but it just means light of dawn.
Please keep the names and meanings coming people. I am hoping to magically stumble upon the perfect name one of these days.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

raania, that’s why I gave you that suggestion in your blog.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

Oh my god you made so much sense with abid and abida example. That just made my heart set on Anabia even more. Thank you so much.
And you are right I do think too much. Am just bored and nothing better to do hehe.
About the meaning of that name: Anabia is drived from the word “anab” that is in Quran 5 times it means “Allah say ruju karnay wala” it’s a male verb. Adding “ia” sound makes it a female verb, such as saad to saadiya, hadi to hadia etc. I personally looked in Quran to make sure this word is there and confirmed the meaning.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

You are right rain is thought as Allah’s rehmat. Muzna means barish ka badal some people translate it to rehmat ki barish ka badal"
P.s. “baaraan” also means rain. You must have heard of term “baaraan-rehmat”

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

Can you please translate “Allah se ruju karne wali” to English? I don’t know the word ruju :frowning:

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

there are many accepted translations for Muzna/Muzneh. They all relate to rehmat as they all relate to barish of some sort…whether it be “mist”, “dew”, “puhaar” or simply “rain”.

we went through a very tough time finding a name for our daughter as well…all the names we really liked were already taken in the family.

ultimately we decided on a name that was not unique in the first name “Noor” but unique in the second name “Onaysa”…and even then it was unique because of how we chose to spell it. the commonly found spelling for her middle name is “onaissa” but we decided to spell it with a “y”.

since then we have found several people have appreciated it and named their daughters with the same name.

you will find that whatever you decide to name her, after a few days you will realize that it is the PERFECT name and well-suited to her iA.

Huba/Hooba: love

It’s my cousin’s name. I’ve never heard it elsewhere and I like it better than the other more common H-names such as Hiba, Hina, Hadia, etc.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

I think you’re over thinking this. Your criteria should be to find a name that has a good Islamic roots - whether in meaning or history. Fatima is beautiful. I think nadz named her daughter Fatima. My niece is Sumaiya. My second niece is Maryam. My nephew is Bilal. These are pretty old names. I know people with these names as well. I went to school with two Sumaiya’s and know countless Maryam’s and a few Bilal’s. But you’re forgetting something here yanzala. Your child will take on certain characteristics from their names, sure. But the rest is all you…how you choose to raise them…how they turn out.
The first time I called Sumaiya by her name it was weird to me - such a big name for such a tiny little peanut. But now, I could not imagine another name suiting her better.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

One more thing, I don’t think it should matter how common a name is. If I had a daughter, I’d name her after a strong figure in Islam and that would be my deciding factor.

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

one of my friends she named her daughter zaina (correctly pronounced *ZAY-nah *I would have pronounced based on the spelling as za-eena)
meaning: beautiful

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

one of my cousin’s name is Aleen (she is in her 40s now so not an entirely new filmi/drama name :):) ) it is from Quran 38:75
meaning: exalted one but in some references haughty one

My cousin is anything but haughty though

Re: my baby girl will be nameless :frowning:

I will n

I will not disagree with you although I just want to say everyone have their own opinion and choice. If you and your family is happy with the choice then it’s fine.
