Re: Mutton vs Beef

Beef is definitely better, no matter what you're cooking. I realized this after we switched to mutton a couple of years ago to cut down our cholestrol intake. But mutton just wasn't cutting it when it cam to taste, so we decided to switch back to beef and control our portions instead.

No reason to eat mutton unless you're suffering from a heart disease.

That said I don't say no to meat as long as it's Halal ;). It's just that beef is better value for money. Don't feel like shelling out extra cash for mutton.

PS: I am a muhajir, so that probably explains why I prefer beef.

Re: Mutton vs Beef

I didn't know punjabis perfer goat over beef.
Agree with Reha. Who cares.. eat what you like. I eat both and find both tasteful.
Also whoever said cow meat is more expensive then goat in west need to go meat shopping more often :D
I am not a fan of goat keema either. Doesn't taste the same. I don't like goat nihari. Some dishes require beef to be more tasteful and some goat. As long as it taste good, I am happy.

Re: Mutton vs Beef

Beef is tastier than goat anyday, but bests are birds specially teetar :)

Re: Mutton vs Beef

Re: Mutton vs Beef

Re: Mutton vs Beef

Re: Mutton vs Beef

Tauba. How do you people even talk about eating birds (teetar, batair etc) :bummer: they are such fragile creatures :hinna:

Beef is way tastier BUT the reason I prefer mutton over beef is, beef never settles well with my system :frowning: I dont know if anyone else can relate here, but I have felt being allergic to beef for some unknown reasn. Like I would get headache or toothache or skin allergy after eating beef (and NO i dont over eat :emmy: )

And well I have heard mutton is healthier than beef anyway :hmmm:

Re: Mutton vs Beef

For burger patties we use ground beef (cow meat) but for everything else even shami kabobs we use lamb. In our community over here everyone eats lamb and cow meat or beef is usually reserved for burgers. I don't know the philosophy behind it but nobody is keen on cow meat for any other dish other than burgers or maybe pasta dishes that require meat to be minced.

Re: Mutton vs Beef

shru se hi ni pkta puri family mae , chicken kabab mostly , agr bahir se lana ho phir beef ke kabab kbhi kbar

Re: Mutton vs Beef

why? I heard people quoting a hadees whih gives an impression that cow's butter and milk is healthy but its meat causes some diseases

Re: Mutton vs Beef

do you eat pakhhi?

Re: Mutton vs Beef

I think some people are overly proud. I'm relatively rich and I eat everything provided its halal. Family back home do the same.

Re: Mutton vs Beef

I don't like it much, but if ghar main pakta hai to sabr shukr kar ke kha leta hoon. BTW Pakhi = Murghabi

Re: Mutton vs Beef

I am not sure why, but thats how its been. Haven't developed the taste of beef. May be the reason is that in Punjab, cow used to be more beneficial for milk than meat and only older cows were slaughtered.
