So I have all this qurbani gosht left over and I am out of ideas on how to cook it. I’ve already done a couple of biryanis and karhais and achar goshts.
Anyone have any interesting ideas? Doesn’t have to be a desi dish, I’m open to trying out a few new recipes.
Thanks

CA, Like chipsy said, its easily availible in the spice section of regular american grocery stores, like dominicks or jewels osco etc. Let me know how it turns out for you.
Re: Mutton recipes
I made smoked mtton with qurbani meat and it turns out very good, simply marinate boneless meat in yogurt, sal, red chillies, and other masalas, and cooked it ,until a ll water dried ,now somked it will apiece of coal,it taste very good with nan.
2nd u can boil meat with salt and peppers and then dip mutton pieces in flour, egg and crumbs and fry it.or can make a better of basen with spices and dip the meat in it nad fry.both taste good.
can make mutton dopiazza,http://www.alldost.com/blogs/wwwmykitchencom, there is a good recipe for dopiaza and afghani mutton,u can try them too.
make mince and can make severl dishes with that.

thanks ira, I made the gyros last night...they were so easy to make and really tasted great!!! just one thing, i couldn't slice them like we get them at restaurants...but they were delicious!!:) I also made tzatziki sauce and served with freshly cut lettuce, tomatoes n onions.
Re: Mutton recipes
CA, i am glad it turned out good. You cant slice the gyro patties like they do at restaurants because they use chunks of meat not ground meat. I am not sure we can do that at home but this is a good and delicious way around it.
Re: Mutton recipes
thanks for the ideas guys!
i still have about 5-10 lbs left but the gosht is all mixed up, its not divided by types of pieces so it makes things a bit tougher
i think i will try some of this out though
Re: Mutton recipes
there’s a lebanese meat stew called ‘fasulia’ that you should try out. it tastes AWESOME if you make it with green beans and add big chunks of potato while it cooks.
we’ve made it a couple of times, and when we’re done eating..we’re always licking our fingers :Dyou can find the recipe on about.com if you search for ‘fasulia’
p.s: you mentioned that the meat you have isn’t sorted…i don’t think it’ll matter so much with this stew!
