I want to try this tomorrow and the recipe that i have makes yakhni out of the chicken and not use it. I want to use the yakhni in the mutanjan but not sure how to. Ammi suggested preboiling the rice in yakhni instead of plain water.
yeah last time I heard mutanjan was basically the same thing as zarda - sweet rice - except it is white with variious colors, where zarda is yellow. Where is this chicken thing coming into it? :)
Guys, mutanjan is meethay chawal with multi colors and it also has chicken in it. Some people also make it without chicken. My mom makes the colorful rice all the time (she rarely uses yellow color alone) but i wanted to try it the authentic way. I think its called Kashmiri Mutanjan, not sure though.
Any recipes to share, anyone? CA, check your recipe book or you'all need to go and ask your moms for me, pretty please! :D
