Mut'a..........Halal or Haram

Mut’a was halal during the time of the Holy Prophet. It remained so during the time of the fist Caliph, Hazrat Abu Bakr. It was only banned by the second Caliph Hazrat Umar.

The question arises whether somebody in the Islamic heirarechy has the authority to turn the Halal into Haram after the demise of the Holy Prophet…

Mut'a what is that?

Please make sure you list some references from quran or hadith. Thank you.

muta is temporary marriage....but i am not sure if it was ever allowed in islam....but let me check first

Salaam 3alaikum,
Zawaj-Mut'a ka matlab hai temporary shaadi. Yeh unn logon ke liye banaai gayee thi jo safar karte the. I have talked to a couple of my arab friends and they told me about it. Yeh aadmi ko ghalat-salat kaam karne se bachaane ka ek tareeka hai. Meray doston ne yeh bhi kahaa hai ke jiss larki se shaadi ki jaae, woh kunwaari nahin ho aur shaadi has to be temporary. Mehar dena hota hai jaise kisi bhi islami shaadi main.

Mujhe pataa hai ke kuchh Aaj-kal ke ABU JAHAL iss baat ka ghalat matlab nikaalengay.... Unn ke liye main sirf yeh kahunga ke safaid kapray main daagh nikalna bahut asaan hota hai.

Salaam 3alaikum.

...aur bhayya, kaise ho?

I have nothing against MUTA
I think if practiced today, our society could get rid of lots and lots of probz.....

You are right Rameesha
That's what Hazrat Ali, the fourth Caliph is reported to have said, "If Umar Had not forbiden Mut'a (temporary Marriage) only the rascal would have gone for zina.
