I’m fed up the mediocre dramas being churned out these days so I decided to watch some old classics. I came across “Kahani Ghar” series on you tube. This particular long play “Amar Bail” has story by Apa Bano Qudsia and Screen adaptation by Amjad Islam Amjad. Stars Abid Ali and Resham. Abid Ali is a veteran we all know but to my surprise, Resham stole the show. Never knew she 's such a fine and effortless actress. The dialogues , performances and direction everything is top class. It’s a must watch.

Thank you very much. I was looking all over for this. Proves that Resham is a miles better actress than the nasal Reema and the psycho Meera.

even Mehmood Aslam was best in the last scenes when he says ‘shikari ki beti ka itna bura nishana’. I’m sure if today they adapt this story, it will be an 18 episode crap serial

^ YES!!!! even after 17 years i still remembered that dialogue. I doubt i would remember any dialogue from a drama that aired last week.

it was a fine play and yes Resham was brilliant in it...she is a superb actress, even many people from film industry admits it.....

Ashfaq Ahmed, Apa Bano Qudsia and Dr Anwer Sajjad are great intellectual writers. But so sad the latter two have stopped writing for tv.

Umera is a talented writer. But I think our current lot of producers and channel owners do not have it them to experiment and charter unfamiliar artistic territory. She' stuck redoing what sells. A director like Sahira Kazmi and Shahzad Khalil would have helped her evolve as a writer.

With loud background music overpowering every scene, maatmi rona dhona, abid ali would atleast slap resham and his wife umpteen times, gaali galosh between mehmood aslam and abid ali , creepy pervert dance sequence and useless side stories and sub plots to kill the essence of the story. I bet there would be many dumb viewers who would hail that mediocrity as a master piece. logon ka taste fazool dramon nay itna gira diya hai.

Have you watched 'Piya naam ka diya' by Bano Qudsia and 'Dil Behkay ga' by Enwar Sajjad?
