Dur-e-shahwar was beautifully depicted. It's a very smooth drama...everything flows smoothly....the background music, the sequence of events, seamless switching between the past and present. It wasn't over-the-top in delivery. Even the MIL's "evilness" wasn't loud and in-your-face. There was a subtlety to it. She was the taciturn kind and her stony silence made her injustices more impactful than the MILs who are of the loud/brash/very transparent variety.

Malal: I know it's not a favorite for many, but I really like this drama and I've watched it more than once which I rarely do with dramas. I found Zeenia's friend and Sarwat Jillani to be annoying...but overall I like the flow and story; just might be my favorite.

Aishwaraya Rai's movie 'Chokar Bali' is also based on same novel of Tagore.

Another good attempt of dramatising a novel is 'Talkhiyan' based on Arundhati Roy's novel 'The God of small things'.
