.........shia leaders must go on national TV and explain their views on the Sahabas. ........
Well if Sahaba Karam got to war with each other, kill, and maim each other, then who are we the mere mortals to raise "Sahaba" flag and suicide bomb others?
Hazrat Usman was killed when Hazrat Hassan was "standing guard". Hazrat Hussain was murdered by Yazidi army. Jang-e-Jamal (war of Jamal) was fought between "Sahaba" with active participation of our Messenger's wife.
With all that bad blood 1400 or so years ago, why do we harp on such sloganeering?
There is only one reason. All these Mullahs are hell bent on proving rather successfully that Islamic brother-hood-hood is just a mirage!

no point in getting oil from Iran. Their women have big noses. ![]()
Re: musslemaan musslemaan bhai bhai - apparently not
Muslims cannot be even united on basic task of saying prayers. And some want to impose sharia!

Rift widens between PU admin and Shia students
By Adnan Lodhi
LAHORE: The rift between the Punjab University (PU) administration and Shia students widened on Friday as the PU administration failed to convince Shia students to offer their prayers under one prayer leader, Daily Times learnt.
According to details, about 150 Shia students protested against the administration for not allowing them to offer their prayers along with Sunni students in the same mosque on the third consecutive day.
About 100 Shia students on Friday offered their prayers on the road as the authorities prevented them from offering prayers in the mosque of hostel 17. Shia students urged the PU administration to let them perform their prayers in a peaceful manner.
It has learnt that sectarianism had become a controversial issue on the campus and Shia students were protesting against the administration for the last three days. On Wednesday Shia students had entered the mosque of hostel 17 and offered their prayers.
A number of PU students and the PU authorities told Shia students not to offer their prayers in the mosque. On which the Shia students shouted slogans against the PU authorities.
After this incident the PU authorities had tightened security around hostel 17. A number of PU officials including Hall Council chairman Prof Azhar Akram and secretary Muhammad Akram, hostel superintendent Hassan Mubeen Alam were also seen on the occasion. These officials tried to stop the Shia students from offering their prayers.
Prof Akram said, “The Shia students had tried to offer their prayers in the past, but we did not allow them.” He said if the Shia students were permitted to offer their prayers, it would disturb the university’s environment. He said the PU authorities had not stopped them from offering their prayers, but it should be under one prayer leader. He said, “We are negotiating with the Shia students and it is expected that they will take back their demands.”
PU students’ advisor Chaudhry Nazir said it was a sensitive issue and the PU authorities were trying to settle it. He said the Shia students would not be allowed to say their prayers.
On condition of anonymity a PU teacher said this act of the Shia students could cause ‘carnage’ in the PU, as the PU was in the stronghold of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT). He said, “In 1999 a tragic incident took place when some workers of the IJT stopped the Shia students from participating in a majlis. The incident later led to killings of four PU students.”
A large number of Shia students were not happy with the PU administration. It was observed that Shia Ismaili students from Gilgit were also supporting Shia students against the discrimination of the PU authorities.
Akbar Shah, a student of master’s, said the PU administration should not stop the Shia students from offering their prayers. He said, “To stop a Muslim from saying his/her prayers is against the preaching of Islam.”
Imamia Students Organisation spokesman Syed Farhan said, “The PU authorities have gird up their loins not to allow us from offering our prayers.” He said the PU administration had told the Shia students to say their prayers on roads. He said the PU authorities had issued expulsion notices to Shia students from hostels, as they asked the administration not to stop them from saying their prayers.
The rift had widened in January 2007 when some IJT activists had stopped the Shia students from offering their prayers. Muhammad Waseem, a law student, said, “The PU authorities had promised us in January that they will provide us separate place to perform our prayers.” He said the Shia students had taken the issue before the PU administration, but to no avail.
PU registrar Dr Naeem Khan said the PU had provided equal opportunities to all sects to offer their prayers. He said, “We will not allow a single sect from taking mosques under its control. He said the Shia students could offer their prayers on the campus.
He said the PU administration had not sent any explanation letters and the PU would not expel any students for offering prayers.
Re: musslemaan musslemaan bhai bhai - apparently not
This is high time to institute “namaz” reforms in Pakistan. We ought to be more civilized in our behavior and set example for the cavemen and desert bidduins.
No namaz on roads, public places, open grounds unless it is a one time affair and no other place is available to accommodate a large gathering.
People must pay for the use of public property ahead of time to get the permit.
No permanent Mullah, no pay for leading prayers. We have enough mature and educated people to lead a prayer or offer a 5 minute khutba. We should have daily cleaning crew for the community center and the pay should for “cleaning” the mosque. As there is no Mullah, there is no need to attach any kind of residential / housing attached to mosque or community center.
No use of loudspeakers.
Mosques should be community prayer centers, non-communal, and open to all religions.
Namaz must be limited to homes or predefined community centers.
And last but not least, for god’s sakes do wuzu (wash) at home. Do not use the community centers as a public “hamam” (bath)
p.s feel free to add more to this list.

^^
I do agree on most of points , apart from No wazu places and No permanent Mullaah suggestion .
Let deals with the wazu issue first , let say we have wazu facilities right but what if some thing breaks ya Wazu during Salaat ? would you be able to run back home and come back in time? Highly unlikely mate . Or in a different scenario , if some one is travelling during Namaz time , not near his home or work place and wants to offer Namaz , where he has to refersh his wazu or like to use toilet ? Any Fatawic suggestion how to resolve this problem?
I do agree that one shouldn’t get paid for leading prayers , luckily we have enough mature , educated and retired people in cities who would love to get engaged in such activities but what about small Pakistani villages and hamlets , where ya can meet crowd , who even cant offer prayers , they hafta wait for mullah to do their qurbanis ( not their fault , simply they didn’t get enough religious education or no education at all ).
What about these people ? why don’t your highness comes with a plan who deals with this issue , as first people should get enough religious education so they wont be left depending on Mullah to do their rituals ?Any idea how should we or Govt of Pakistan should support such positive religious activities? I hope I aint asking for much here !

God save us from fat-fat fatwas. These are just humble suggestions.

You mean someone f@rts during namaz? Oh well a simple sink in the far corner is good enough. Heck you don't need to take a shower after that "little incident". Would you?
........... but what about small Pakistani villages and hamlets , where ya can meet crowd , who even cant offer prayers , .....!
When was the last time you visited a village? FYI Villages have more than ample people to lead the prayer for "FREE". We ain't no need a Mullah for that purpose.

bhai saab im not pissed off,
you have alot to offer pakistan, if reforms are moderate and progressive thats good. dont prove the war on terror is a war on islam though
Re: musslemaan musslemaan bhai bhai - apparently not
dont prove the war on terror is a war on islam though
yea it should be more on wining hearts and minds then killing bodies
Re: musslemaan musslemaan bhai bhai - apparently not

i agree with you but even 'hearts and minds' is too much of a campaign. surely what we need to do is end support for alq in tribal areas (by easiest means) and help make peace in afghanistan amongst the different political factions. a victory of successfully seperating the taliban from alq particularly in afghanistan would leave pakistan with minimal military action needs and the war on terror finnished. the tribal areas itself does not need any action if the problems in afghanistan are sorted out.
the general pakistani population should be left completely out of any solutions of anyone

I agree that the cancer is in Afghanistan. Pak forces need to do hot pursuit and attack Afghan areas adjacent to Pak border. No need to kill our own people if you can kill bunch of Afghan terrorists.
