Actually its totally other way around. The muslim population actually think that whole independence was wrong and thats why they keep quoting Maulana Abul kalam Aaazad who strongly advised Quaid not to work for independent country rather join hands together so that there can be a muslim government in united India. Now whether it would have happened or no, God knows. But from whatever i’ve read and observed, I highly doubt it.

There is another interesting but painful point. Many people just cut all relationship with people who moved to Pakistan. Don’t know the reason. But even legend like Manto mentioned that Ismat Chugtai never replied his letters as she was angry on his decision to move to Pakistan. That proves your point.

I remember once Ninja mentioned that after 1965 war, many Indian Muslims named their children Ayub Khan. What would have been the situation in 1971. Did they feel bad for disintegration of Pakistan or they rejoiced that prophecies of leaders like Abul kalam came true?
