Dear moderator and deedwar ,as you started this topic try to understand the truth.Ok what led to the VHP bandh. 40 hectares of forest land was allotted to Amarnath shrine for temporary usage for the pilgrims. But Muslims started agitation to revoke that!! Is it right from any of your view. Remember the forefathers of the muslims in Kashmir were Hindoos. And majority of the Kashmiri Pandits are refugees in India. In which part of the world this may happen? Only in India. Deed war is speaking about Pakistans record of treating its minorities. But why you are not answering the question of anjan regarding the mystery behind the fact that
Pakistani minorities reduced to 2% FROM 10 % WHILE iNDIAN MINORITIES INCREASED FROM 3% (1947) TO 13% . How many temples are there at Lahore ?(the hindu majority city at the time of Independance). Do you know the fact that the largest growing population in Indai is that of Muslims.

I strongly oppose any construction of Temporary structure in that region. The reason of my oppose is because any construction going to effect flora fauna (environment) and it may also encourage further construction, it'll be a total mess. But political parties are tossing up famous Hindu-Muslim card to take political millage. Pilgrims should not allow even to use Helicopter.
All the pilgrimage journey should be tougher with minimum comfort, this is going to be a test of follower belief like in ancient time.

You mean to say at 11,000 feet at a place which had no roads and is inaccesible during 8 -10 months a year. You must be joking .... if India wants to change demographics in Kashmir, they can do it in the cities and not go to inaccesible mountains.

You’re right…these protests have been testament to the liberal secularism of Kashmiri culture and good nature of the Kashmiri people.
Even as every village in Kashmir erupted in protests virtually shutting down the Valley, the local Kashmiri Muslims provided the yatris with free meals and accommodations (a fact that even the pathetically biased Indian media has been forced to recognize). Even though Indian soldiers butchered several unarmed protesters and maimed hundreds more, not a single yatri was attacked over the 9 days of protests.
Meanwhile in Jammu…BJP and VHP mobs assaulted Kashmiris, attcked mosques, and beat up madrasa students. Other Hindu extremists in Delhi ransacked the home of a Kashmiri Muslim minister and attacked Kashmiri-owned businesses. Now the whole world can see who the real rabid fanatics are.

If you take the killings that have happened in Pakistan in the last 9 days ..... then using your definition it can be termed as that a genocide is happening in Pakistan

Going back to the OED, "butchering" is defined as "to slaughter in the manner of a butcher, or in a brutal and indiscriminate manner." I consider armed paramilitary and police forces beating and shooting unarmed protesters to death "brutal and indiscriminate"...even if they only manage to kill one person.

To all ; While I posted the fact about the land deal I expected some logical answer. But Now I understand that logic is out from many of the members mind. One of the member even dared to say that the forest of Kashmir should not be pollutted by the presence of Hindus.! His mind is clear. He think that only Muslims has the right on Kashmir. What a foolish and bigoted thinking.
Before the coming of Muslims to that paradise ,Kashmir was full of Hindoos /Budhists.Almost all the indian literature depicts its beauty. And for Hindoos it is abode of Lord Shiva. If hindoos started thinking in your way they have the right to expell all the Muslims from their holy land . See Kashmir is thier forfathers land . Kashmiri Pandits are still refugees in Delhi. You may not be concerned about them becasue they are not muslims. But Indians have genuiune concern as they are Indians. So if the land deal is wrong shall I ask one question
If the land deal is wrong (as it will pollute Kashmiri forests with the presence of Hindoos) then is it not right if the VHP is asking Muslims to vaccate Mathura,Kasi,Dwaraka, as the presence of Muslims pollute the holy hindu shrines there? .

Comparison with Pakistan will come up ... this is a paksitani board ... where memebers are concerned with the killings of muslims in India (hence this article). They seem to be concerned about the way muslims are treated in India. A genuine concern i might say but then they should look into their house before they point fingers at others. How are the muslims treated in paksitan? after all Pakistan was carved out of India to be homeland for muslims of sub-continent ..... a safe haven for muslims ..... has it become one? More muslims have died in the last 60 years in Paksitan then they have in India.
As for the brutality of ,what do you think the police in Pakistan does when there are protestors in Paksitan....... put garlands ........should i post links of the brutal treatment of pakistani police on muslims. That is how the police behaves , unfortunately.
