If a country claims to be freedom and human rights then how can it be two faced and say woman cannot cover.

Good way on how to dodge the argument. How are hindus treated in the gulf countries. True they go there to earn their livelihood. That does not mean that they can be treated like what they are being treated now.

Y is there no similar statements when minorities(non muslims) are denied even the basic rights in muslim majority countries..

You will have to understand where this is coming from. With the growing resentment among muslims against the govt there is every possibility for hijab to be used as a cover to mask the identity. Better to be safe than sorry right. True disguises can be used, but hijab provides an easy solution for concealing bombs. That might be their thinking (not mine).

Not really how is it something to be happy about, in so called civillised world in 2004 they have to fight to wear a piece of cloth to protect there honour.
Yeah... except that in many of the so-called muslim countries you can be arrested just for 'demanding' something. Anyway, there is nothing to condone about the actions of a few countries in Europe (including Turkey) who are using all kinds of tactics to ban hijab. The whole hooplah is in fact quite pathetic. I am with you on that.
Faisal agreed its just this idea where they target and focus on the muslim woman like this is really underhand.
It is like almost they are trying to intimidate the muslim woman and this make lot of people angry.
