Re: Muslims converting to other religouns?
No, but that is exactly what Christian theology would have us think. As for the “real” reason…no one knows but God.

and it was Satan that healed the crippled girl I suppose?
Re: Muslims converting to other religouns?
LOL. “devout athiest” ?!
Isn’t that an oxymoron? What exactly can you be “devout” about as an Athiest. Disbelief in God or any supernatural force causes you to be without a personal stance for a religion. Atheism is not a religion, it’s the exact opposite - the absence of a religion for a person.
Yes, standardize the Quran into an organized account in which it will be able to be passed on without the messege being corrupted. The reason the other copies were destroyed was so then they wouldn’t be mistaken for the one genuine Quran that had been compiled after being revised over and over again of any mess-ups in the recording process. Once again, it was all to be sure that the messege was sent uncorrupted and accurate for generations to come.
The reason men are allowed to marry non-muslims and women are not is because the religion the father supports for his family to follow is usually the one the kids will end up following. Also because if a woman is a Muslim and she marries a non-muslim, he may begin to have a problem with her following Islam, etc. and therefore causing family trauma as well as a religious dilemma for the woman. As far as modesty is concerned, both men and women are to be modest. Yes, women wear hijaab. But males also have a hijaab in the sense that they should not be staring at women, harassing, etc.
Islam tells us to RESPECT others and their beliefs as you would a fellow Muslim. Any negative treatment of non-Muslims in the community is strictly against Islam, and simply a bad representation of Muslim behavior. Jihaad means struggle. It could be anything small such as refraining from drinking alcohol at a party. Anything you sacrifice for the sake of Allah (swt) as long as there is a reasoning behind it. People today have COMPLETELY screwed up the idea of Jihaad, which is a shame because it classifies the most gracious acts a Muslim can do for the sake of God.
I really don’t think this dude knew what he was talking about. He claims to have studied A LOT about Islam, yet his arguments are so weak that I’m sure many Muslims could answer with the knowlege right off the top of their heads.

Re: Muslims converting to other religouns?
What horrible reasoning, who’s to say the kids won’t follow the womans religion?
Again horrible reasoning, do you actually buy this? Who’s to say a non muslim woman who who marries a muslim man won’t start having a problem with his religion and cause trauma as religious drama for the man?
Explain more clearly what you are trying to say above.
Re: Muslims converting to other religouns?
Islam considers the husband head-of-the-family and therefore requires that a Muslima cannot marry a non-Muslim because she will be under the authority of a non-muslim husband. He may prevent her from carrying out her religious obligations by either pressuring her. But it is not the sole reason for imposing the restriction. The situation is considered very damaging for the woman to practise Islam afterwards and even worse for the kids in such marriages. There are NO conditions mentioned under which a Muslim woman IS allowed to get married or remain married to a non-Muslim husband after she has accepted Islam. Therefore, even if she has freedom to practise Islam after marriage, she is NOT allowed to enter into an inter-faith marriage.
Agree with what you’d like. Some may argue with statements made in the above paragraph, but what the Quran has stated I agree with fully and is said out clearly. As much as we hate to admit it, IF ANYTHING, it’s much more likely that a non-muslim husband would interfere with his Muslims wife’s faith or the influence on the kids than the other way around.
Re: Muslims converting to other religouns?
Assalamualaikum,
Concerning your friend whom you wish to give da'wah to, I recommend going to a scholar in your area who you trust about this and talk to them for advice. There are also numerous places on the internet where you can ask advice form a scholar you trust on what to do- some places i can suggest are islamqa.com and the forums on almaghrib.org.
In the meanwhile, you should remind her of tawheed, and why Islam was revealed- its purpose. One of the best things you can do is make dua for her.
Here are some pointers on dua, and how to get it accepted:
1- be sincere
2- feel that your are in dire need of Allah
3- Avoid that which is unlawful
4- extend your hands to allah
5- use the names of allah
6- be patient; even if your dua is not answered after a long time
Insha'allah, ill send out one more reply on this.
