… This problem of character deficiencies is what led me down the path of spirituality about 8 years ago.

**The deficiencies within your own character, or the character of others…or both? I think that one needs spiritual strength to deal with other people’s crap. The kind of stuff people do amazes me. **

**Is it a fact that we do not have enough awliya in these times? If so, why is that? I have heard that even the wali of Allah doesn’t k ow that he/she is a wali. **

Thinking that RasoolAllah (SAW) can’t be followed - so we resign with deficient characters
Or Thinking that RasoolAllah (SAW) is like one of us - so we see it fit to select alternatives and hence also do not follow him.

We cannot not follow RasoolAllah (SAW) if we want to be successful. We need to restore our faith in his way and at the same time we need to start doing and talking less …

Yes, it is annoying when people say that the Prophet SAWS is a tough act to follow…he is…no doubt about that. But, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t even make an effort. It amazes me the amount of patience he SAWS had with people for idiotic behavior that makes me feel like slapping them silly. We need a drug …a fast-acting serum that numbs our hearts and minds to people’s crap…with stronger dosage for extended family members.
