I’ve noticed this as well actually. I’m wondering why though? What exactly is making these Muslim youth such hardcore salafi? Where are they getting their info from? I don’t think its from the mosques is it? My sister in law, since she started university two years ago, has actually started showing quite a change in thinking. All of her friends are salafi or wahabi. And their thoughts and ideas have really had an impact on her thinking as well. I can’t really discuss any Islamic issues with her at all now without it ending badly. Another thing I’ve noticed is a lot of people really starting to follow Farhat Hashmi. Is that something anyone else has noticed?

I can so relate to this yo. I would end up being in argument with that person all the time. Apparently, called me very un-Islamic.
As per Farhat Hashmi..she is from Toronto here. But lives in Pakistan i guess. I am going to refrain from saying anything about her and her aqeeda..

I’ve heard of some accusations interestingly from the Jewish community that MSA’s are funded by the Muslim Brotherhood, and there is wahabbi money being poured into them.

I lucked out - where I went to school, some girls some years before got fed up with MSA policies towards women and the sheer control by wahabbi arab foreign students, and they created their own organization. For women. Which interestingly, all the guys and minorities (shias, other shia subgroups, etc joined). The MSA became essentially non-existent except for a handful of arabs who still went to meetings.

So we never had this wahabbi brainwashing.

By the time other family members got to that university, the MSA had conveniently managed to infiltrate our group, and the organizations were merged. Interestingly, ON PAPER, the name “MSA” carried on, and the hybrid name never took official effect on university records (which the muslims on campus didn’t know about until my sister, the treasurer, figured it out).

When she confronted the arab guys in the group, they told her to either put on a hijab or get out.

No joke.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is dodgy hands behind the MSA’s in the US. There is a pattern of guys going in normal, and then coming out hard-hearted, intolerant and plain unfriendly.

They get brainwashed. I’ve seen it happen a lot.
