The problem comes up when both 'love' each other and go against society & religion.
It is much harder for the muslim girl, becuse leaving islam is tantament to wishing for a death threat (fatawas).
One of my Hindu male relatives, did fall in love with a muslim girl - but the mother of the boy sat down with the girl & boy and explained all the consequences(society, kids, religion) which would happen. That stopped them going any further.
my sister's friend is muslim and she married a non-muslim german guy. she didnt have an explanation all she said was its my life and i can spend it the way i want.
What about all those so called Muslims who are Muslims just for the name, if marrying a gora who belives in Allah is zina then marrying all those so called muslims should be zina too.
if the "so-called" muslim isn't practising, yet STILL believes in the shahada, then he is sitll a Muslim, marriage to him would in no way put it at par with zina.
Secondly, if he hides from a girl his true feelings (or lack of) for the religion of Islam then its not the girl's fault is it? she's not to blame of zina or whatever bcoz of her ignorance to the truth.
yea right..they control the women in every sense...im nt saying islam is sum weird strict religion...but c this is what men r doing.....
just becoz he can control the woman..he can marry anyone....regardless muslim...paki ..gori ..
ahhh i will never understand men theory or philosophy
You're very wrong- on the day of judgement, women will enter paradise before men do. A mother holds higher place than the father. The jannat is under the mother's feet, not dad's, etc etc etc- need I say anything more? Not just that, I read something recently that surprised me- a wife has ALL the rights over her husband's money but when it comes to the other way around, the husband cannot even claim a single penny of his wife's without her permission. People think Islam favors men more when that's not true at all. The only reason people think that is because all everyone can talk about is how men are allowed to do this or that with all the generalizations, noone bothers finding out how many rights Allah swt has actually given to women.

It's hardly socially acceptable for a man to marry outside the culture, let alone religion...with regards to religion, race has nothing to do with it...men may marry a Jew or a Christian, but not an agnostic, atheist, etc. And even then, it's certainly not a-okay for a man to marry outside the faith...I know of no mosque in the area I live in that will preside over an interfaith ceremony.
i believe its our own fault that we have no clue what rights we have and we just go and blame men for bein cruel and islam as male dominating religion
i think therer just few women who r actually aware of their right s being a muslim woman
my father always says that i dont know y women r so ignorant of what allah have given them
whenevr sum1 cums to him telling him bout their property issues he is always very strict bout rights of daughters and wifes in property
cuz every1 who talks bout sharing fathers property they totally ignore daughters and dont even mention them so he always asks that if u have given ur sisters share to them and ppl also tell him that our sisters r married and blabla they r financially settled so wats the point giving them their share
and my dad always says that wat if they r its their right and u have to give them that
but still our paki relatives dont wanna listen just ignore him
and in my life i have never heard a single person giving share of father’s property to their sisters never
and i always wondery those girls never ask for their right???
if i was in their place i would ask for my share no matter what cuz its my right
and my mom always says what kind of girl u r u will not let go of that share even for u own brother ??? she has a bit paki mentallity
i say no
y shud i when allah is giving me a right y shud i let it go ??

shay thats a really good reply....but unfortunately it doesnt happen in real life.....i wish it was a perfect world and women could claim all their rights over their husbands money.....but yea i totally agree with what will happen on the day of judgement
have you noticed...that when some of our desis marry a gori/gorah, the gori/gorah arent even remotely good looking? I mean the gori is usually from sum council estate and looks old enough to be the guy's mum/big sister and the gora is usually a skinny geek with glasses. apart from Jemima khan of course :P

i know ea!
but like everyother thing i have to spoon feed on Gs (as if i am writing an exam…many ignorant dont get the logics or logics of illogical concepts)
my dad's cousin married a christian in USA. they worked together and fell in love ...
the guy didnt convert at first ......
but my aunt preached him the teachings of Islam ....
and also he got v impressed with the islamic way of living tht she persued .....
and within an yrs time he converted into a Muslim ...
he even learnt to recite Quran from my aunt ...
I agree with spock, stop generalizing. I personally know many desi with gora spouses and all those gora's are beautiful people from both inside and outside.

If that's what's happening in the world, why are YOU blaming Islam? People are committing murders, zina and what not so should Islam be blamed for that as well? What happens in real world is one's own choice. Go sit with an Imam and you will get all your answers to 'what rights do women have in Islam?' question. But don't go around badmouthing Islam and calling it a man's religion because that's entirely false! This is the perfect example of putting ALL the blames on religion no matter what happens. Media did it when 911 happened, calling Islam a terrorist religion and now we have our own fellow Muslims doing the same thing.
