Like I said, not all 17 were examined...some didn't consent.
While I agree it would be a more convincing case if there was at least some evidence of gential injury found, I think its incredibly unlikely that not 1 or 2, but 17 women, from an very honor-conscious South Asian village, would be willining to basically destroy not only their own reputations in the eyes of their society, but those of their entire families (as a result of the stigma attached to rape)...all to make to make a political point, and make themselves seem even more victimized than they already were.
