In Islam a Muslim woman can only marry a Muslim man but a Muslim man can marry a Muslim or a woman from the People of Scripture (Jews, Christians etc.). I'm guessing the reason for the distinction is men have more dominant personalitis and are physically stronger so they're better able to guard their identity, that's just my opnion, pc-incorrect I know but logical if you look at it with an open mind.

People have too much time to waste on talking, discussing etc on a movie. I wish we could spend this much time or even more on reading, reciting and understanding the Quran.

a muslim female is allowed to marry any male, of any race and religion, as long as he converts to Islam before the marriage.
i believe, for a muslim male, he is allowed to marry a non-muslim female but he must raise his children in an Islamic manner. The reason is mainly to further grow the muslim population.
