I think this would be a perfect step to bring harmony and peace among different ideologies. Since the disputes between the followers of different religions have given rise to seek the true faith. This can be best achieved by bringing together the learned preachers and teachers so that they may, in the context of predetermined objectives, reveal the beauties of their respective faiths. In such a discussion, the true religion from God will definitely become parent.

Please read the section of the Quran surrounding 5:48. God discusses the previous scriptures (Torat, Gospels) and says they are also God's law.
He says "For each of you, we have decreed laws and different rites," and he asks each congregation to follow it's own book. He says, "Had GOD willed, He could have made you one congregation." But he didn't. He does not say that all Christians and Jews cannot go to Paradise.

You shall rule among them in accordance with GOD's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. i wonder how they will argue. there are no founding priciples that are common to all.
most of them can not be falsified. if i say 2+2=5, u can prove me wrong. but if i claim there are 33 crore gods in cow and sinners can not see it, or if u believe what i say (do not believe what i say ) u will go to heaven (hell), there is no way to disprove me.
but religious arguments have happened in past and i am curious how they did it. shankaracharya - mandanmishra argument is famous in ancient india (mandanmishra's wife was the referee and shankaracharya won the argument, interesting commentary on how things got worse for women in middle ages in india.) i never read it since philosophy gets on my nerve. but here it was more like sunnis and shias arguing since thy believe in one book and there is some basis to argue on.
but buddhist-hindu arguments have been there in past and i wonder how they could have reasonable argument when there were no books that both believed in.

Abrogation
Islaam abrogates all the previous religions, Christianity and Judaism included. And hence if the Jews and Christians do not accept Islam, they are the losers. Whatever good deeds they have will be scattered like dust on the Day of Judgement. We will only quote the Islamic position is on this issue. In The Reliance Of The Traveller we read:
Previously revealed religions were valid in their own eras, as is attested by many verses of the Noble Qura’an (Koran), but were abrogated by the universal message of Islaam, as is equally attested to by many verses of the Noble Qura’an (Koran). Both points are worthy of attention for English-speaking Muslims, who are occasionally exposed to erroneous theories advanced by some teachers and Koran translators affirming these religions' validity but denying not mentioning their abrogation, or that is unbelief (kufr) to hold that the remnant cults now bearing the names of formerly valid religions, such as "Christianity" or "Judaism", are acceptable to Allah Most High after He sent the final Messenger (Allah bless him give him peace) to the entire world. This is a matter over which there is no disagreement among Islamic scholars....
Please note that there is no disagreement among the Islamic scholars concerning the abrogation of previous religions like Judaism and Christian and that believing in their validity is a form of kufr.
Salvation in Islaam
Islaamic concept of salvation is not based upon good deeds, but is based primarily upon faith. In the dozens of times Allah (SWT) talks in the Quran about salvation, He always states, "Those who believe and do good deeds." Belief is always mentioned before deeds or works. When one converts to Islam, one does not do it by doing some good work but rather through realizing and believing that there is but one God and Muhammed (SAW) is his last messenger. Non-Muslims may perform good works as well, but what sets them apart from Muslims is their lack of IMAAN, or belief. The reason that the good works of the non-believers are worthless in the hereafter is because of their disbelief. Unless a person's Imaan or aqeedah is not correct, all his good deeds are worthless.
One of the more popular Hadith of the Prophet (SAW) states, "All actions are based upon intentions," implying that the purpose, intent, or Imaan behind your action is what you get rewarded for; the actual action is really a consequence of the belief.
Another Hadith states, "A man came to the Prophet (SAW) and asked, 'When will the Day of Judgment come?' The Prophet (SAW) replied, 'What have you prepared for the judgment day that you are so concerned for it?' He replied, 'I do not have any good deeds in my account, but I do have one thing: I love Allah and His Messenger (SAW).' The Prophet (SAW) then said, 'In that case, do not worry; you will be with those whom you love.'" (Agreed Upon). This Hadith also confirms the Islamic position of placing aqeedah and belief before actions. For example, Allah (SWT) says in various parts of the Quran, "The believers you will find praying..." He does not say the people who are praying are believers. It is the belief that brings about the action, but the converse is not always true. Another Hadith of the Prophet (SAW) states, "Unless one loves Allah and Allah's Messenger more than one's own self his Imaan is not complete."

I am a Sunni Muslim. I was born in Pakistan. Now I am a US Citizen and lives in USA. For a considerable length of time I have been involved in Dawah and I have debated with Christians and Jews (both). Most of my debates are and have been with Christian Pastors, Priests, Bishops, Reverends, and more. All I experienced is without any exception that they have been running or ran like Zebras. I am shocked by profound ignorance of some Muslims here about their own faith and book. As I said that:

By the way Christians and Jews don't give a damn about our faith and book. Also there is a universal Fatwa without any disagreement that Ahmadis/Qadyanis are Kafirs. It does not take a rocket scientist after reading the verse 33:40 from Noble Quran!
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men but (he is) the Apostle of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.
By the way I am willing to debate with any Muslim or non-Muslim with reason and logic by using forensic and empirical results. I possess extensive knowledge about Bible(New Testament ot "NT") and Torah(Old Testament or "OT") and "Talmud"(most practicing book of Jews than Torah).

In order to have a better understanding of teachings of Noble Quran including your reference about 5:48, a reviews begs for our attention. I disagree with your stance, though you are entitled of your opinion. However, facts according to Noble Quran does not supports your conclusion. To have a better and clear understanding one must read entire Surah Al-Maida (Chapter 5). Here are verses 47 to 51 for better understanding and clarify the misunderstanding you seems to have.
- Let the people of the Injeel (Gospel) judge by what Allâh has revealed therein. And whosoever does not judge by what Allâh has revealed (then) such (people) are the Fâsiqûn (the rebellious i.e. disobedient (of a lesser degree) to Allâh.
- And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad SAW) the Book (this Qur'ân) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Mohayminan (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (old Scriptures)]. So judge between them by what Allâh has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth that has come to you. To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If Allâh willed, He would have made you one nation, but that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds. The return of you (all) is to Allâh; then He will inform you about that in which you used to differ.

And so judge (you O Muhammad SAW) between them by what Allâh has revealed and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they turn you (O Muhammad SAW) far away from some of that which Allâh has sent down to you. On Types of Kufr
The following information was excerpted from the appendices to the English translation of TAFSIR IBN KATHIR
The Qur'an uses the word Kufr to denote people who cover up or hide realities. The Qu'ran uses this word to identify those who denied Allah's favors by not accepting His Dominion and Authority. Kufr thus is an antonym for Iman or disbelief in Allah and a Kafir is a non-believer. This type of Kufr is called AL-KUFR UL AKBAR or major kufr. There are many types of Al-Kufr ul Akbar:
1. Kufrul-'Inaad:
Disbelief out of stubborness. This applies to someone who knows the truth and admits to knowing the truth and admits to knowing it with his tongue, but refuses to accept it and refrains from making a declaration. Allah(swt) says: Throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever [Surah Qaaf (50), Ayah 24]
2. Kufrul-Inkaar:
Disbelief out of denial. This applies to someone who denies with both heart and tongue.
Allah(swt) says: They recognize the favors of Allah, yet they deny them. Most of them are disbelievers. [Surah Nahl(16), Ayah 83]
3. Kufrul-Kibr:
Disbelief out of arrogance and pride. The disbelief by the devils (Iblis) is an example of this type of Kufr.
4. Kufrul-Juhood:
Disbelief out of rejection.This applies to someone who aknowledges the truth in his heart, but rejects it with his tongue. This types of kufr is applicable to those who calls themselves Muslims but who reject any necessary and accepted norms of Islam such as Salaat and Zakat.
Allah (swt) says: They denied them (OUR SIGNS) even though their hearts believed in them , out of spite and arrogance. [Surah Naml(27), Ayah 14]
5. Kufrul-Nifaaq:
Disbelief out of hypocrisy.This applies to someone who pretends to be a believer but conceals his disbelief. Such a person is called a MUNAFIQ or hypocrite.
Allah( swt) says: Verily the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell. You will find no one to help them. [Surah An Nisaa (4), Ayah 145]
6. Kufrul-Istihaal:
Disbelief out of trying to make HARAM into HALAL. This applies to someone who accepts as lawful (Halal) that which Allah has made unlawful (Haram) like alcohol or adultery.Only Allah(swt) has the prerogative to make things Halal and Haram and those who seek to interfere with His right are like rivals to Him and therefore fall outside the boundries of faith.
7. Kufrul-Kurh:
Disbelief out of detesting any of Allah's(swt) commands. Allah(swt) says: Perdition (destruction) has been consigned to those who disbelieve and He will render their actions void. This is because they are averse to that which Allah has revealed so He has made their actions fruitless. [Surah Muhammed (47), Ayah 8-9]
8. Kufrul-Istihzaha:
Disbelief due to mockery and derision.
Allah (swt) says: Say: Was it at Allah, His signs and His apostles that you were mocking? Make no excuses. You have disbelieved after you have believed. [Surah Taubah (9), ayah 65-66]
9. Kufrul-I'raadh:
Disbelief due to avoidance. This applies to those who turn away and avoid the truth.
Allah(swt) says: And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of his Lord's signs but then turns away from them. Then he forgets what he has sent forward (for the Day of Judgement) [Surah Kahf(18), Ayah 57]
10. Kufrul-Istibdaal:
Disbelief because of trying to substitute Allah's Laws. This could take the form of: (a) Rejection of Allah's law(Shariah) without denying it (b) Denial of Allah's law and therefore rejecting it, or (c) Substituting Allah's laws with man-made laws.
Allah (swt) says: Or have they partners with Allah who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed.
[Surah Shuraa(42), Ayah 8]
Allah(swt) says: Say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely (that) is lawful and this is forbidden so as to invent a lie against Allah. Verily, those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper. [Surah Nahl (16), Ayah 116]

Jews and Gentiles:
The Talmud is one of the most major of all books in Judaism after the Torah. The Talmud covers every aspect of Jewish Life. Everything from what Jews wear and say, to how they act towards others and treat them.

Jews are Divine, Sanhedrin 58b. If a heathen (Gentile) hits a Jew, the Gentile must be killed. Hitting a Jew is the same as hitting God.
O.K. to Cheat Non-Jews, Sanhedrin 57a . A Jew need not pay a Gentile ("Cuthean") the wages owed him for work.
Jews Have Superior Legal Status, Baba Kamma 37b. "If an ox of an Israelite gores an ox of a Canaanite there is no liability; but if an ox of a Canaanite gores an ox of an Israelite...the payment is to be in full."

Insults Against Blessed Mary
Sanhedrin 106a . Says Jesus' mother was a whore: "She who was the descendant of princes and governors played the harlot with carpenters." Also in footnote #2 to Shabbath 104b it is stated that in the "uncensored" text of the Talmud it is written that Jesus mother, "Miriam the hairdresser," had sex with many men.
Gloats over Christ Dying Young, A passage from Sanhedrin 106 gloats over the early age at which Jesus died: "Hast thou heard how old Balaam (Jesus) was?--He replied: It is not actually stated but since it is written, Bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days it follows that he was thirty-three or thirty-four years old."

Toilet and excrement obsessions are laced throughout Talmud and were exhibited in Spielberg*s Schindler's List where the Hollywood director shows a Jewish child jumping through a toilet seat in an outhouse and falling into a pool of liquefied excrement. There the child meets two other Jewish children partially immersed who inform the interloper that this cesspool is their hiding spot exclusively and that he must find his own. In addition to the theme that God rewards clever liars the preceding discussion is actually about Christ (the lad who 'uncovered his head'). The reference to the lad's mother is of course to the mother of Jesus, Blessed Mary (called Miriam and sometimes, Miriam the hairdresser, in Talmud). Genocide Advocated by Talmud Minor Tractates. This was for me one of many eye openers. I give thanks and Praise to Allah for guiding me to such an article. It is more proof that Allah guides whom he wills and leads astray whom he wills.

The Bible according to the Muslims' beliefs is a corrupted book that is filled with disagreements and fabricated stories made by men on certain occasions to fit their own needs. The Original Pure Bible is lost, and that is why Allah Almighty sent the religion of Islam to mankind. He sent Islam to deliver his Grace, Love and Mercy to us after people became confused from the corruptions that Jews and Christians caused in the original Holy Bible "We (Allah) certainly gave the Book To Moses, but differences Arose therein: had it not been That a Word had gone forth Before from thy Lord, the matter Would have been decided Between them: but they Are in suspicious doubt Concerning it." (11:110). Previous revelations are not to be denied or dishonoured because those who nominally go by them have corrupted and deprived them of spiritual value by their vain controversies and disputes. It was possible to settle such disputes under the flag, as it were, or the old Revelations, but Allah's Plan was to revive and rejuvenate His Message through Islam, amongst a newer and younger people, unhampered by the burden of age-old prejudicies.
Question
After reading the entire above article, do you honestly think that the Bible is all absolutely the word of God? Could it be that most of the Bible's command and laws were man made to satisfy man's needs during that time?

After reading Quran, I believe it is a mistake to assume that only Muslims will go to heaven. That is an invention in the minds of those that came after Muhammad. God has provided many books and each people should follow it's book.
