MUSLIM UNITY

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM

INTRODUCTION
Most of us who write or contribute to this forum are **Sincere Muslims **willing to share their ideas with each other. Every now and then, inadvertantly, an issue comes where we start to drift away from common grounds and start finding differences among our selves. Yes I agree that certain differences are there and a lot can be said and written about them. But they are of minor i.e., ***Faro’aee ***in nature. This is a time when all the un-Islamic forces are united against Islam and unfortunately we are not. The two biggest denominatios in Islam at present are ***SHIAS ***and SUNNIS. Before writing anything else, let me confess very sincerely that I consider everybody who Believes and Worships The One True **ALLAH ALMIGHTY **and believes **HOLY PROPHET HAZRAT MUHAMMAD **(MPBUH) to be the last, true messenger of **ALLAH **as a MUSLIM. I would definitely not like to hurt anybody’s feeling or start a controversy. My only point is Harmony and Tolerance among ourselves. Putting aside the issue of **Khilafat **and **Imamat **I personally think that the relations between Ahle Bait and **Sahaba **were not that strained as are among different schools of thought today. Over here I would not venture to start the controversy of who is **Right **or **Wrong **but I would just quote few instances of Cooperation among Bannu Hashim and Sahaba.

HISTORICAL FACTS
1. Hazrat Jaffar-e-Tayyar (RA) and Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA)
Both of them were having brotherly terms. When Hazart Jaffar-e-Tayyar (RA) embraced martydom in Ghazwah-e-Mautah, Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA), married his widow i.e., Harzat Asma binte Amees (RA).

2. Hazrat Ali (KAW) and Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA)
After the demise of Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA), Hazrat Ali (KAW), married Hazrat Asma binte Amees (RA) and adopted Hazrat Muhammad bin Abu Bakar (RA) saying, "He is my son, although he is from the progeny of Abu Bakar (RA).

3. Hazart Ali (KAW) and Hazrat Umar (RA)
It is recorded that whenever Hazrat Umar (KAW) was faced with a problem, whether religious or otherwise, he would always ask for the advice of Hazrat Ali (KAW). At a number of times he said, “Had Ali (KAW) not been there, behold, Umar (RA) would have perished”.

4. Hazrat Umar (RA) and Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS)
Once Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) was playing with Hazrat Imam Hassan and Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). At that time Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS) passed a remark on Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) calling him the son of his slave. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA), went back home crying and when asked by Hazrat Umar (RA), narrated the whole story. Hazrat Umar (RA) started crying and asked his son to go back to Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS) and request him to write these same words for Hazrat Umar (RA) as a token of authentication to be placed in his coffin.

5. Hazrat Usman (RA) and Hazrat Ali (KAW)
During the Khilafat of Hazrat Usman (RA), the Fitna of Khawaraj was a menace for the Muslims. During this time, Hazrat Ali (KAW) made several attempts to save Hazrart Usman (RA) from the evils of Khawarij. The personal presence of Hazrat Imam Hassan and Hazrart Imam Hussain (AS) at the residence of Hazrat Usman (RA) to safeguard him against Khawaraij says it all.

6. Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS) and Hazrart Muawiyyah (RA)
Whatever the role of Hazrat Muawiyyah (RA) might have been, at least Hazrart Imam Hassan (AS) showed the ultimate sign of magnanimity by reconciling with him to save the Muslim Blood from shedding. He also proved right a Hadith of Holy Prophet (MPBUH) when he said, “This son of mine (Hazrat Imam Hassan (AS)), will unite two factions of my Ummah”.

7. Hazrat Ali (KAW) and Hazrat Ayesha (RA)
After the **Battle of Camel (*Jang-e-Jamal) ***the reconciliatory dialogue between Hazrat Ali (KAW) and Hazrat Ayesha (RA) says it all, when both declared that incident to be a misunderstanding between a **Bhabhi **(Brother’s wife) and a **Dewar **(Husband’s younger brother). Moreover the respect with which Hazrat Ali (KAW) sent back Hazrat Ayesha (RA) to Madina also points to a reconciliation rather than animosity.

8. Hazrat Ayesha (RA) and Hazrat Fatima (AS)
Hazrat Jumai bin Umeer (RA) states that one day he, along with his aunty, met Hazrat Ayesha (RA). I asked her, “Whom amongst women was liked the most by Holy Prophet (MPBUH)?”, She replied that it was Hazrat Fatima (AS). I asked again, “And among men?”, and she replied that it was her husband Hazart Ali (KAW).

9. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) and Ahle Bait (RA)
Once Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar was asked by someone, “Which Sahabi was respected the most in Holy Prophet’s (MPBUH) time”. He replied that it was Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA). The man asked again, “After him?”. He replied that it was Hazrat Umar (RA). The man inquired again, “Who after him?”. He replied that it was Hazrat Usman (RA). The man asked the fourth time, “What about Hazrat Ali (KAW)?”. On hearing this Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar replied, “Don’t you know that he is not from Ashab, but is from Ahle Bait”.

10. Hazrat Imam Baqir (AS) and his wife
Hazrat Imam Baqar (AS), the 5th Shia Imam was married to Hazrat Umme Farwa (RA), who was a great grand daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA). Her pedigree goes like this, Hazrat Umme Farwa binte Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakar (RA). She was the mother of Hazart Jaffa-as-Sadiq (AS) the 6th Shia Imam.

AHADITH
These are just a few instances of the mutual respect among **Sahaba **and Ahle Bait. Now I will qoute a couple of Ahadith;

1. Hazrat Ali (KAW) and Momineen
This Hadith is present in Sahih Muslim, Jame Tirmazi, Masnad-e-Ahmad with slight variations. Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (MPBUH) said about Hazrat Ali (KAW), “Every **Momin **will consider Ali (KAW) as a **friend **and every **Munafiq **will consider Ali (KAW) as an enemy”. Another variation with another sanad goes like this, “A **Munafiq **will not consider Ali (KAW) as a **friend **and a **Momin **will not consider Ali (KAW) as an enemy”.

2. Hazrat Ali (KAW) and Hazrat Essa (AS)
This Hadith is from Masnad-e-Ahmad. Hazrat Ali (KAW) himself said, “Holy Prophet (MPBUH) said to me that you are like Hazrat Essa (AS) in that Jews maligned his mother (Hazrat Mariam (AS)) and Christian made him a diety to which he was not worthy of”. After saying this Hazrat Ali said, “Two types of persons will be destroyed in relation to me; the one who over glorifies me out of love, and the one who maligns me out of hatred”.

From the words written above, it is clear that Sahaba (RA) respected and loved Ahle Bait (AS). Similarlry, Ahle Bait (AS) loved and respected Sahaba (RA). A true **Momin **is the one who loves Holy Prophet and his Ahle Bait especially Hazrat Ali (KAW), no matter to which school of thought he belongs. And all the three righteous Caliphs (RA) loved and respected Hazrat Ali (KAW) and he (KAW) repected them (RA).

CONCLUSIONS
From whatever I have written above, I very humbly want to draw certain conclusions. I hope most of you will agree;

  1. True Islam is in Following the Sunnah, Adhering to Ahadith and Loving the Ahle Bait. Every school of thought is doing all these things, although the labels are Shia, Sunni ans Wahabi.

  2. All the different Schools of Thought in Islam are, SUNNIS or AHLE SUNNAH, becuase every group is following certain Sunnahs of Holy Prophet.

  3. All the different Schools of Thought in Islam are, SHIAS or AHLE TASHEE, becuase every group loves and respects Hazrat Ali (KAW).

  4. All the different Schools of Thought in Islam are, WAHABIS or AHLE HADITH, becuase every group is following certain Ahadith of Holy Prophet.

  5. It is high time that we should forget about these labels and become only Muslims, because all the Non-Muslims are one and united. Don’t we see that when it comes to Non Muslims, the west potrays them as Nazis, Indians, Russians, Israelis, Americans, British, French Japanese, Chinese etc etc and not Jews, Christians, Catholics, Protestants, Hindus etc. But when it comes to Muslims, west potrays them as Shias, Sunnis, Wahabbis, Kurds, Druze, Ismailees, Moderates, Fundamentalists, Radicals etc etc.

My friends, its high time that we should ***hold fast to the Rope of Allah ***and let no Schism divide us. Becuase it started with Afghanistan, went to Iraq, has spread to Lebanon and who knows, where would it go in future. Act before its too late.

Aik haun Muslim, Haram ki passbani kay liyay
***Neel ***kay sahil say laker ta ba’khak-e-kashghar

Ameen, Sum Ameen.

Wassalam.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

^ Subhanallah! Enlightening post. This division is used by the west to ingrain in the minds of many muslims that all these sects are religiously different and hence cause further division among muslims. This is one weakness that can be exploited to the detriment of muslims without any cure unless we realize the points you made ourselves.

In the muslims mind, we already unconsciously speak of a unified enemy. We always refer to the west without even saying USA, Britain, France or Germany etc. In our minds our enemy is unified yet we cannot stand together ourselves inspite of so much commonality.

Lebanon will be invaded, not because Israel wants it because USA wants it. This sets the stage for a Syrian invasion as Syria will be surrounded from Lebanon, Iraq and Jordon is already pro-American.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

Muslims are united.

its the deviants sects that are divided among themselves.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

smma59 - Tou abb app ki unity nahee rahi sufi sahib kay saath?

That’s exactly how seeds of disunity start.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

Salamz, I am an old member of this forum but visit very rarely.
found this thread interesting and want to share some thoughts.

Nice to see brothers thinking about unity. its good.

If Sama types 10 bullets in humble words, will you agree to all of them?

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

by the way, I am not Shia but I feel they have lot of valid points.
unfortunately those topics are "banned" in suni islam and this has blocked any progress of unity effort.
Same is true for other way around.

Actually we muslims are split due to our love. love for Sahaba and Ahle-Bait.
this love forces us to add exageration to it and it becomes a part of faith.

I have spent some time with debating Shia and sunni brothers and have some critical points in my mind.
Shia's view of Imamat doesn't have a justified proof from Quran. but that is due to love of Ahle bait + opression of 1400 years.
Sunnies view of Sahaba is unrealistic and unjust. again due to love + political dominance throughout history.
we can discuss both of these points and more if needed.
in fact notion of "ghulv" in religion due to love is not justified even for a rasul. we have an example of Christians who did this to their prophet and are declared astray by God.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

Disagreements lead to discord eventually especially if the differences of fundamental nature.

The key to the Unity is respecting whom the others respect.

I hope you got the point.

Your post above is good.

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

Br. Can you elaborate your post please?

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

With all due respect in my view, there is no such thing as a muslim nation or unity, atleast not anymore. Example: If you were in the Pakistani military would you not try to kill the enemy regardless of their religion. I would hope so. So the muslim nation doesnt exist. Its all about nationalism in todays world. And in my oppinion there is nothing wrong with that. Feel free to attack me since I must have offended many. But if you want a healty response back please try and rationalize your claim.
Thank you!

Re: MUSLIM UNITY

Can you explain why you believe nationalism to be a good bond...rationally a link with people based on them living within a border not created by yoursleves seems a bit stupid to me...a link based on ideological belief seems a lot stronger as its a bond based on ideas...not birthplace...
