Agreed that the terrorists who are carrying out mass killings in the world these days are mostly Muslims and they claim to be doing it in the name of Islam.

We need to put this into perspective, were there any Muslim terrorists pre 79? Yes there were but were confined locally within Saudia Arabia and Egypt. This is exactly what Alqaeda is OBL (Saudi) and Zwahiri (Egyptian), and US helped them fight the Russians in Afghanistan.

Two common factors that we see in the rise of Islamic Extremism is Saudia (as the source of indoctrination and funding) and the US (training). Does Afghan ‘jehad’ ring a bell? What about Iraq where routing Saddam Hussain on false premise resulted in a political vacuum in that country which gave organizations like AQ and now ISIS to gain foothold? Even in Pakistan the drone strikes have created more fanatics and extremists in the country as compared to eradicating them hence complicating things for the country.

US’s role in the ensuing bloodshed (due to its wrong Foreign policy decisions) should and cannot be forgotten and forgiven. The other country which is responsible (Saudia) is still untouched and a US ally.

Jack Sparrow, I was going to say the above. Well written response. The war in Iraq was a flat out illegal war, and I am one of millions of Americans who think so, and protested against this war, and voted for Obama FOR THE REASON that he was the only one anti-war.

We had no right to go into Iraq. We bombed their people, destroyed their mosques and homes, we destroyed their peace. For years there was fighting, rounding up of suspects, and a SYSTEMATIC torture policy in prisons like Abu Gharaib. These are not conspiracy theories, these are facts that are now being presented and discussed in Congress.

If any country did that to us, what would the American response have been (I assume you’re in America, Jack)? Would we tolerate it if Mexico tried invading us? We can’t even tolerate their immigration apart from tex-mex food, there is plenty of demand to kick immigrants back out to South America. Let alone a military invasion.
