May be you should ask the Muslim bar-tender in your town.

Well I would have, But a bar-tender isn't the right person to ask such question, Is he ?

The point is they both know its not allowed, but still do it.

Mohd. Rafi did sing quiet a few bhajans. It was wrong. After performing Hajj, he regret his acts and never sang bhajans again in his life.

I don't recall any Muslim lyrcist who wrote any bhajans ?? Can you give us an example?

Sahir, Majrooh and Behzad Lakhnavi were known for their sufi type shairi.

Madhanee

And how do the Hindus keep off the streets?

Qawalis by any chance.

Smooth - I dont want to create any controversy or dont want people to start calling names to these great singer but I do know that There were many bhajans sang by rafi and penned by some muslim lyricsts, I can't recall all of them but I do remember Sahir writting "Ana hai to Aa rah mein, kuchh pher nahiN hai, bhagavAn ke ghar der hai, andher nahIN hai' and 'Allah Tero Naam, Ishwar Tero Naam , Sabko Sanmati de Bhagwaan'. I also remember Shaqeel Badayuni writting 'Man TaRpat Hari darshan ko'.

singers r not the best role models for muslims....

and singing devotional songs for othe religions is not the only wrong thing rafi has done....
such people (including shahrukh khan, salman khan etc) shud not be seen as muslims cuz their acts clearly nullify the behavior a muslim shud exhibit....

armughal - They certainly are better role models than yourself. At least they dont teach hate and bigotry in the name of religion. Also, Instead of declaing others non-muslim, you youself should try to become a good muslim and Let allah be the judge of us.

This dicussion isn't about who is/isn't a rolemodel. If you wish to discuss that open a new thread for that.

"Asif"( am guessing you are a hindu using this fake name),

Take your bollywood crap with you. Salman khan and all the rest of the sh!t are NO religious or moral models. They are not even religous and their children are hindus.

This is coming from a guy who wishes that Isreal nukes every Arab country until no single Arab is left in the Middle East. So much for your "hate and bigotry" theory right? Hypocrite.

To make this post relavent. Asif, use a little common sense, it's obviously wrong for a muslim to praise hindu gods. What a sad state of affairs.

I agree with Brave Heart, take that Bollywood crap and shove it........ you know where.

Have a good day.

Man this "asif" aka Ramesh kumar is an imposter. He is a hindu yet to confuse people he comes up with a mus-lim name.

Salman khan or what ever are NOT moral or ethical models for Mus-lims.

Just like Britney Spears or Madonna are no ethical models for christians.

This thread is going no where, except personal insults. Its now closed.
