Actually in middle east, they sit on the toilet seats with their feet! 
Actually one time, one of my bro’s desi friends (brought up in saudia) actually had the seat break under him (well he didn’t get “hurt” hurt you know.. :D) and the other time, he was in a public bathroom and some guy came in and heard all the “noises” but couldn’t see any feet so THE GORA RAN RIGHT AWAY!!!

Most of the East Asian Muslim countries have these in their washrooms. Its just in our beloved country that we can't let go of the Lota.

Agree, here in Canada cold water is 1 degree in winter and 10 degrees in summer. So this device would freeze your butt in winter. I just prefer to jump in the bath tub an clean myself (as all hinuds do in India woith lota). Elesewhere in a public toilet, I wet the paper towels which are ther for drying hands, take it with me to the toilet and use it for a complete clean-up.

Mehnaz, I saw something similar at the mall the other day. The guy was explaining everything, but the concern we had was whether the pressure was enough. The ones we saw were portable toilet seats. So if you move house or go on vacation, you can take it with you. I thought that was pretty cool. grin

The product Mehnaz ius showing is teh way to go. There is another company that makes it which always provides water at a certain temperatureso you dont burn yer butt or freeze yer behind sue to the water temp.
There are various issues with these "muslim showers" many of these are hack jobs and leak. There are a few issues
1) The connection to the intake is not sealed properly and it leaks from there. This does not happen as much but does happenn
2) the pipe itself starts leaking. As you may have seen the quality of these items varies significantly. Some pipes are steel encased, like the ones people use for washers and driers, and they are used for a reason, it prevents the pipe from breaking due to bending or ppl stepping on it etc etc. Please inspect these thoroughly and make sure that the pipe is of a high quality...look at your kitchen sinks sprayer;s hose for an idea of what you should be lookign for.
3) the junction of the pipe and the sprayer...big issues here, due to usage the place where the hose connects with the nozzle leaks often and needs to be sealed properly, the o rings inside are a must, but it is a good idea to put a sealent outside as well. this part gets twisted, stepped on, falls on the floor and goes thru all sorts of abuse. in addition since the water is shut off from the nozzle there is pressure inside the hose and it will spring a leak from the weakest point and often this is where the hose meets teh nozzle.
4) leak from the nozzle..if the nozzle stops functioning properly it can spring a leak. This is uncommon but happens sometimes.
Look for items which are certified by NSF or UL etc. Additionally companies that have to meet ISO standards.
It would be really bad if you damage yer cool bachelkor pad condo or nice suburban estate due to a cheapo crappy muslim shower.
Before you start wondering why I know so much about muslim showers, its because I know people at NSF and UL which were involved in product performance and safety testing and I had asked them for their opinion.

I saw the automatic water spray thing Mehnaz is talking about at a friend’s house. It is very neat. It does need getting used to.
The water is very controlled but as i said, it needs getting used to. At first you might find yourself taking another shower after, lol.
