Muslim Scholarship Fund 2003

MUSLIM SCHOLARSHIP FUND 2003
The Muslim Scholarship Fund was established in March 2002 to assist Muslim
university students pursuing degrees in fields in which Muslims are
underrepresented. The Muslim Scholarship Fund seeks to cultivate student
interest in the designated fields at the pre-collegiate and collegiate

Open only to US students!!! I wish they could use a fraction of that same amount and offer scholarships to needy/deserving students in a country like Pakistan!

Spock bhai, I used to think like you too.

I discussed this with some people and my ideas about the issue changed a bit though.

The thing is all this is not as direct of a process, its all a cycle and the way it works is: the success of Muslims in the United States should be encouraged because now this is home for the new generation of US Muslims [whether ppl like you and I feel hapy about that or not] and if these Muslims flourish more in the US, they will be in a better position to help back home as well and affect US domestic policy and foreign policy regarding Muslims as well.

So while giving money directly to poor Muslims back home is a noble task, this too is also good and there should be a balance in both approaches, neither population should be ignored or favored excessively I guess...even though for you and I our hearts first favor the poor back home.
