i wont do takfir of any one granted, but the fatwa was given against OBL and the gang because they declare the rulers of saudi and other muslim countries kafir, so the govt.s made the ulama say ok you cant call any one kafir even though their actions are clear kufr. but i believe that obl has proved his point beyond a doubt that those rulers really are kuffar, so the fatwas of these scholars has no merit.

The issue is that regardless of what I myself believe, I'm bound by ijma taking precedence over individual ijtihad.
Until someone can show me that more than 170 scholars oppose these measures, I'll take these to Islamic.
