Re: Muslim scholar about past Prophets
^^ yes, this is really a good source of books. and the above book has lots of information about Prophets (AS)
Re: Muslim scholar about past Prophets
Croquet, while reading books by muslims about Prophets do remember that , there is very little information about "details" of their lives from reliable Islamic sources that is Quran and Sahihi Ahadith. Most of the details have been taken from narrations of some companions (not of Prophet pbuh) and from biblical sources then tailored to muslim beliefs.

^^
Yes this is true, many of the muslim historians took the information about prophets from pre-islmic resources. like bible and torah etc etc. since those were changed which effected the beliefs of muslims, like prophets can be sinner, their parents can be kafir, prophets can do mistakes, etc etc.
these issues became so wide in muslim and muslims sects are outcome of these issues. .

so far that has been my opinion as well. Thus i created the thread to find out whether there are some reliable good sources. Why i want to read the biographies? Curosity i guess. I have read small booklets and brief information on these prophets a.s but would like to know more about them. It comes up in comparative analysis at times. For instance (and i cannot vouch for the information) i once heard a discussion involving about Prophet Muhammad pbuh and the number of his wives where it was produced that Hazrat Suleman also was polygmas. Just something i am interested in but i want to be able to get my hands as much reliable sources as i can. For obviously as a muslim i donot want to be a reason for disrespect to any messenger of Allah.
thank you. i appreciate your postingthe link, helps me find more about it.
