The sad thing is...that many Americans, esp those who do not live in a metropolitan area, they have no idea what a Muslim really is or what Islaam is really about. They see all these scary news reports about OBL, beardie-Taliban-types etc and they think that anyone in that type of dress may be "one of those" yeah?
I didnt mean to imply that one should not wear desi clothes in America...but it does make you different, it does make you stand out from the crowd. And in some cases, it can have really bad consequences as it did for the unfortunate family on this flight...they were simply trying to find the "safest seat" on the plane - something I ALWAYS do lol cause I'm so scared of flying...and they found themselves in fear that they'd end up in Gitmo.
Its a very sad and sorry thing for sure. And the only way I know how to make things better is to make every attempt to educate everyone I can about the REAL Islaam, the REAL Muslims...yeah?

I don't know what I'm gonna do if similar "misunderstanding" thing happens to me and my family? May be I'll forgive them or may be leave the country but removing hijab is no option for me.
