This is an ancient debate amongst people of the past … Some people said a major sin makes someone a kafir, but the dominant opinion is that sinning in itself does not make a person a kafir. However, while they are doing the sin they are in a temporary act of kufr. But on the other hand to change or alter the belief system, that to say a haram thing is infact not haram or an act being a sin is not a sin, then indeed doing that is the same as apostasy.

Taking pride in a sin is apostasy … because it demonstrates that person does not believe that that sin is a sin. Marriage between two of the same gender is taking pride in and declaring to all that the homosexual act is going to be done.

isn’t there a hadith narrated to hazrat abu zar (RA) that every muslim will enter jannah..even if he has committed adultry?
is committing a sin is act of kufr?
i totally agree with part that declaring haram as halal and halal as haram is kufr…
