Re: Muslim inventions that shaped the modern world
I am sure there are a lot of good invention by muslims but atleast the two highlighted in the link are not entirely true, being first.
Surgery - there are very detailed Hindu texts much older that discuss various forms of surgery. The use cat gut wire however may be the improvement that is true.
Similarly algebra - the link itself acknowledges that the kitab-al-jabr.... was based on Hindu and Greek systems preceding it. So I am not sure why they claim it as a muslim invention?
Re: Muslim inventions that shaped the modern world
In Mathmatic (algebra) the muslims by taken the advantages they introduced (inventioned) many things in it. Mohamma bin Mosa Al-Khawazmi, Umar Khyam, Naseer-ul-din Tosi, Ibn-e-hatham and Kamal Aldin farsi are the most famouse person whom mades (invention) many new changes in it.
Khawzmi was the 1st person who invented point ( . ) in maths and he was the only person who started on algebra. His book Hisaab Algaber-o-Muqabala in 12th centeny was translated into latin and this book was used in europe for almost 16 centuries.
same like [Ilm-e-tib, (medical)] Ibne-sena's book Alqanoon was translated in latin and used till 17 century
