Qutab Minar, Delhi
[thumb=H]qutab117338_2086468.JPG[/thumb]
Qutab Minar, the 239ft sandstone tower is an Indo-Islamic architectural wonder of ancient India. This magnificent tower of victory stands in the Qutab Complex located at Aurabindo Marg, near Mehrauli, 14 Km south of Connaught place in Delhi. The complex has a number of other important monuments- the gateway built in 1310, the Alai Darwaza, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque; one of the oldest existing mosques in India, the tombs of Altamish, Alauddin Khalji and Imam Zamin; the 2000 year old 7m high Iron Pillar- the Alai Minar; another tower 27m high, the Madrasa or School, great screen of Qutbuddin Aibak in the mosque etc.

King Qutubuddin Aibak of Slave dynasty laid the foundation of the Qutab Minar in 1199, adjoining the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque, to proclaim the victory of Islam, after the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi. It was the Afghan, Muhammad of Ghur who ousted the last Hindu king Prithviraj Chauhan in AD 1192, but he returned to his country leaving Qutbuddin Aibak as his viceroy. In 1206, on his masters death, Aibak crowned himself as the Sultan of Delhi.

Described by some as the most beautiful mosque in India, the congregational mosque was built by the city's founder, Sultan Ahmed Shah in 1423. Built in yellow sandstone, it combines the best of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture. It stands on 260 pillars supporting 15 domes at varying elevations. The mosque is located in the centre of the old city.

Re: Islamabad
Hi!!
Then why to absues mugal rulers. What muslims of india and pakistan feel proud of, is built by them. Ofcourse they had gone wrong at some places, but note how many years they have ruled. 900 years. They gave urdu language and else you need from them.
Our muslims,
If just get few hundred thousands ,they do not take support of earth to place their feet down to earth. They just fly in air all the time. They are sharabi, kababi, and do all sorts of haram kari, they have harrams todo all that rubish.
So if you compare a rich or today's king with mughal rulers.
You must say mughals were better than today's .........
Honesty must prevail, no one should be prjudice. Bye Sokoon

Re: Muslim India
From where have you copied this chart please let me know :D
Re: Muslim India
This is a fake chart.. muslims in India are 30-35% of the population- still a minority but can become majority in 20 years time. There are cities like Lucknow, Calcutta, Hyderabad and Mumbai where they are like 60-70% of the city's population. Indian government should give special quota and preference to muslims given their contribution.
Re: Muslim India
^ ^ where do you get your statistics ......
which school did u go to?
Re: Muslim India
I went to one of the better schools(Qudaratullah Taalim) in Sialkot, Punjab. Richest Indian (Wasim Premji) is a Shia twelver. Most of the things in India are built by muslims(Taj Mahal In Agra, Red Fort in Delhi, Qutab Munar in Bombai) plus muslims contribute a lot to the Indian economy.
