Muslim husband, hindu wife

True, other religions offer heaven, but only Islam can actually get you there. The rest are false, or at best corrupted severely by man.

He was never married to a woman called Rehana - the only Jewess he married was Safiyya (ra), who accepted Islam just before marriage.

Maria (ra), as I understant, remained Christian initially after her marriage but then accepted Islam.

And bear in mind that the Quran permits Muslims to take pious women from the Ahle-Kitaab (People of the Book) as wives, and does not lay down on them the condition that they convert first. So a marriage between a Muslim man and a pious Christian or Jewish woman is perfectly .

The issue here is that hindus are not considered to be Ahle-Kitaab, as the Torah, Psalms, or Gospel was not revealed to them. They are not a religious group to which any of these three books was revealed and can therefore not be considered as People of the Book.

what about 150 indian muslims they do live among so called kafirs
whay they should listn to you ? you are not going to help them you ran away to pakistan from hyderabad.

Bengun, it's a bit confusing as to what kind of advice you want. Your friend will have to shuttle between relatives and wife until one of them caves in.

The 'jannat' argument is a non sequitur. On the one hand you say that all religions offer paradise, on the other you worry if it's really so. Have you ever read one of the many life-after-death books? All of the people who 'died' described the same experience. Quit worrying about heaven for heavens sake.

if they want to follow "Islamic" rules, they really don't need to listen to me you or Bush.... simply open Quran and find out. If Quran says they can't marry idolators then its upto them to remain Muslim or follow their personal desire. Whether you run away from Hyderabad to Pakistan or from Karachi to Bombay, you can't change rules in your religion.

And ditto for Rayhana , a jewish wife of Mohammad, who never accepted Islam, and was a jew during marriage!!

So were those marriages, null according to Islam?

Too the best of my knowledge, you are right rehana was a jew, however she married one off the companions of the prophet(pbuh)

muslim husband hindu wife, confused kid.

karina, thanks for questioning. problem is not between him and his wife, and we now laugh when i tell them about all these replies.

if you really understand the issue, the problem itsel is revealed in most of the replies.
they can openly abuse an inter religious marriage, what will happen when he entres the system alongwith his wife, so he prefers to go his home country alone.
i raise this issue of paradise, because this attraction is shown to him by his relatives in letters.

This thing has got more to do with history than your delusions.the so called Torah,Psalms or Gospel were out-reached for the hindus (atleast according to ur holy book)because of the reason that hinduism was not being an established religion during the writing times of Khoran.moreover, those who shaped your holy book were not familiar with Hinduism as Hindus (or the so called Indus people)were living only in some selected parts of the world like Indian subcontinent and South East Asia (Combodia and Indonesia).

I read somewhere that Khoran tells abt krishna somewhere and it preferes to call krishna as `Nabi'!!!

Does your holy book talk abt budhism or Jianish?

The answer will be NO Its simply because of the fact that ,the people who masterminded the creation of Khoran were not aware of thes religions .Since christianity and judaism were poular and present in midddle-east during those times, they found their places in Khoran.

What the hell is the "Khoran"? Naa tum logon ko khaanay kee tameez, na safaaee ke koi aadat aur naa hee bolnay ka koi andaaz. Kam az kam likha to insaanon ke tarha karo.... saari duniya kay bhookay aur kaheen lift naheen miltee to yahaan patta naheen kiyoon aa jatay hain....

are you alright, mufakkarji?

Please repost your rambling when your hang-over is finished. Thank you.

The couple is happy and they want to keep religion out of it so whats the hoopla? This question doesn't belong in religion forum….its more of a family/relatives issue.

The guy should show some spine for cryin out loud
1) If he has married a Hindu. Fine. No one should have a problem with it. He should stop abusing Islam and its teachings.
2) He should tell his relatives where he stands with respect to his relation with his wife and religion.

fayaz, a very realistic reply, thanks.
