Open blasphemy is considered treason - so a law needs to be there … but the wind in the sails of the blasphemy is taken away when the accused denies all blasphemy under oath … by uttering a statement that contradicts his charge.

For example accused is blamed for “saying he is a prophet in Islam” then the rectification to this is to “publicly announce under oath that he is not a prophet in Islam”

The only law for blasphemy that should lead to treason is if

a) The person insists under oath that what he is accused of saying and says the allegations are true
b) He publicly propagates that belief and states under oath that he will continue doing so

Otherwise his statement under oath undoes the charge … All people should be given a chance to clarify their position. If people announce “Ya RasoolAllah” it does not necessarily have to be directed at him and surely he is not the one saying the words … they are being said by his followers … They should be stopped by him and his word about his own beliefs is what matters …

For sure a person who “does believe something that others find to be blasphemy” he will never recant his blasphemous claim under oath, because it will ruin his claim. So to get him to clarify, even recant i.e. seek forgiveness for an error on his part is enough to cancel the charge.

What you mentioned is ‘Islamic principle’ but these dheet Fitna-gar people are not even proper Muslims. They are quacks claiming to be guardian of Islam.

On the other hand, in Islam, state has nothing to do with individual’s personal beliefs and deeds (hence blasphemy law is unislamic … imposed in subcontinent by British to control tension between emotionally charged-up population … something Zia modified to make it worse and his spiritual son Nawaz introduced into it capital punishment). State can only interfere in mamlaat (dealings of people with each other).
